Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

DAY XXIII

Another day,another planet.

Here is my first ever Barlow being used in Spain.

I went to the Laguna Negra on my motorbike to find it had quite a rocky path.

So I fashioned a walking stick to help me dither along ( no more TAB(ing) or Yomping for me at this age). 😁

When I got back to my motorbike I passed it on to someone else to use,I am good like that.😅

I love using my knives it gives you great memorys besides being fun to use.

Day 23:
A little pocket dump.

Hey, if you ever feel inclined to dump your traditional pockets in the future, we've got a thread for that, here! Would love to see 'em!

I've never tried the ol' inner tube around the Zippo thing, but I've always been curious as to how well it works. Any insight? Like, if you filled your Zippo and put the piece of inner tube on - how long do you think you'd be able to let it sit without the fluid evaporating?

I don't pocket dump often, but I definitely should post in that thread!

I mostly use the inner tube thing to prevent the zippo from sliding off slick surfaces (which could damage the hinge) and to seal it water tight when I go fly fishing or canoeing. I use my lighter too often to know how long it would last with the band on it untouched 🤣

There's a lot of things you can do to increase the time between refills. The main ones I hear about are the sandwich bag trick, cotton bacon, and the band. I stopped doing the bag trick because it annoyed me when refilling. But, when I was doing tests I got just over 16 days without needing a refill using all 3 tricks. Approximately 325 lights! I got just over 10 days completely "stock" (~210 lights). I think the cotton bacon (or equivalent) makes the biggest difference.
