Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

Day 23

Happy Wooden Wednesday, fellow Barlownians! (I think I've finally got this whole knife/day-theme thing firing on all cylinders! Only took me three weeks to get it right!! 🤣)

I brought the recent Taylor's Eye Witness Barlow back for another showing, and paired it with this recently acquired Beaver Falls Cutlery SFO, from Cooper Cutlery, with a D2 blade and covered in Tobacco Stick - literally the sticks used to hang tobacco leaves during the drying process.

Neither of these knives really knock my socks off, but they both adequately handle all of the minor tasks I have to throw at them. Not shown, my Remington Granddaddy Barlow is close at hand in case any company worth impressing shows up. 🤣

If you can't find today's number - you might want to schedule an eye appointment! 👓

Day 21

Case Barlow in Smooth Antique Bone kept me company all day today. Almost forgot a photo. Been busy all afternoon going through bags of keys from Dad, Mom, and myself, making sure to find matches to locks and fireboxes. Ended up with two locks with no keys, all fire boxes keys found, and about a pound of keys I have no idea what they go to. Kind of a moot point at this stage IMHO, still need to check with remaining family and see what they want done with the keys. One of my goals is to leave things in a more organized state for my estate cleanup than Mom did, and hers was easy compared to many others I've seen over the years.

Day 18 - Wish it was 23 so I could say I'm all caught up and something like;
T = 20 and C = 3
This was my first TC and was so happy to finally get one from a dealer. It was difficult even back then. View attachment 2527345

I had one of those and gifted it to Mark, if I recall correctly. I still remember it as one of the finest "lookers" of my Charlow herd. Beautiful ! :thumbsup: 😍 😍 😍
You might win a prize for that one ... if my prizes were going to be handed out for most handsome Barlow ....... but ..... that won't be the way. ;)🤣
Starting today, I will make an announcement that you can carry and post two Barlows for the remaining days ...... to catch up with the rest of us. I'll detail that later.
Some or all of the prizes may be revealed today or tomorrow, so stay tuned and keep them Barlows coming ...... if any of you are interested in accumulating more knives.

The Hand of Fate....didn't KNOW I had this RR Smooth Bone until I opened a desk drawer and there it was leering out at me :eek: It's certainly well-finished but Orange is not my fave colour except for fruit&veg:D
But it counts!

DAY XXIV

Fate .... that's a complicated thing. So you're throwing out carrots to get your orange "Tested Sharp" :rolleyes:🤣🤣:p pre-qualified. You know that you can carry some of your better Barlows more than once ...... right?!!!! 🤔:rolleyes:🤣🤣 I reckon I will count it though ...... but ..... you have better options ! Always Ready ! :rolleyes:🤣🤣🥕🥕🥕

Yesterday was a sort of a sad day for me, as I found a nice day to go out to the Marina and bring my fishing boat home. :(
Due to the constant price increases for dock fees, increasing three hundred dollars since the start of Covid, I said, enough is enough and gave up my slip and locker. 🤬:(
I think Covid will be remembered, in part to, when the world went mad, with way too many people jacking up prices to stay ahead of the inflation curve. 🤬
Don't they know that the merry-go-round just keeps on turning when they do that ? 🤔🤔🤬

I used my Robeson Barlow to cut the artificial baits from about ten fishing rod and reels, cut some rope with it, and also cut up some cardboard with it. It had no trouble getting the job done. :thumbsup:😊

Day 23
And we're getting close to the last of my Barlows. Two Imperials that hardly ever get carried. An old one that shows some wear & a one newer one that I got a couple years ago. I'll be carrying the old one.
