Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

I also got the email at 4:44 (timezone difference?) and was on it within 20 seconds guaranteed and it never showed in stock for me.

Yeah I am in Pacific time. That is strange, I didn't see the email right away but I was able to click, add, checkout no problem. Confirmation email came immediately and is at 2:51.

Crazy. I just got one at knivesshipfree so all is good. Didn't look like he had a limit but I only bought one. DLT and New Graham are the only 2 that I've been following that I think haven't hit yet. Good luck everyone.

If there are going to be this many admittedly great online retailers that Spyderco has relationships with they have to up the number of these sprints. It's becoming a huge nightmare waste of time trying to score one. I was on the GPknives email within seconds and it was gone. The numbers at knifeworks seemed to be minuscule too.

I could not agree more. It makes perfect sense, but whether Spyderco will agree or not is another thing

My phone didn't ding right away but the in stock email originally shows 2:44pm and they went OOS at a little after 2:51 so not quite that quick but still stupid fast.

I was out there within 1 minute of your post here. I searched for it, found it, and I could still add it to my cart from the main page. I tried to add it and it then showed they were out of stock. PITA.

Slow to get there as well.

It's funny...well, not really, but...I have a few knives that many consider to be grails, near impossible to get. One knife took me years to even find. Yet, I can barely get an in-demand Spyderco these days, and only if I am fast and lucky. I stopped buying GEC when their fanbase went crazy and currently own only a sodbuster. I don't even look at them any more as all interest in them is long since gone, though I do use and enjoy my soddie. The current state of rabidity with which Spyderco knives seem to be disappearing may portend a similar future for my interest in Spyderco. Time will tell.

And they are in stock right now... but they bumped the price to $189.50.

I guess that is how the market is supposed to work.. but that’s a large premium.

I considered it... but walked away. Somebody else can do it!

tried to buy one at deadwood but got banned from the website ????

edit: still banned on desktop, not banned on phone.

snagged one from deadwood.

Am I wrong in assuming that S45VN is supposed to have edge retention and strength similar to S30V and S35VN?

I see someone graciously offered a PM2 S45VN on the exchange this evening for just over double retail.

What makes the S45VN Sprint so appealing aside from just the novelty of the steel / scales and the fact it's a Sprint Run - anything? My understanding is that S45VN is very similar to S30V/S35VN..

It’s one of the first folders in S45VN (if not the first), a unique CNC-machined G-10 pattern and Spyderco’s most popular ParaMilitary model. That all makes it appealing several times over!

All of the sprint models are appealing because of the unique steels and unique handles.

I really like Spyderco’s willingness to do sprint runs and exclusives with new/niche steels, new covers, and new colors on proven knife designs.

From the knifesteelnerds article posted above:

“S45VN shows improved toughness and corrosion resistance relative to S30V along with similar edge retention. Or slightly reduced toughness relative to S35VN but with improved corrosion resistance and edge retention. It shows a better overall set of properties, I think, making S45VN a good upgrade to either S30V or S35VN.”

Deadwood knives showed out of stock this morning for the S45vn pm2 but looks like it’s back in stock as of right now.
