Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

I was hoping we would see examples of the Stretch Straight Spine in some harder steels, but I'll keep hoping :(

That Rock Jumper looks awesome..looks almost like a Stretch-style handle with a Wharncliffe? Heck yeah

I was thinking the same thing. Almost looks like the stretch 1 handle with no choil. I’d definitely be interested in that. Plus 1/8” thick stock and what looks to be a thin grind.

I also like the looks of the swayback, but I imagine it’ll be pretty expensive and it’s pretty thick blade stock for such a short blade. It’s hollow ground, which will help.. but I think I’m still leaning towards the chef for a Slysz design.

Really crossing my fingers that they make a bunch of the Z-cartas... wear-cartas? It doesn’t really have the same ring as cru-carta, but I imagine it’ll feel and perform the same.

I feel the same about the sway back, would love one but looks expensive. Plus I prefer the traditional Swayback like the GEC Viper. Definitely hoping for more of the Z-Cartas as well, as I missed the CruCarta and have been wanting one badly. Will this be Spyderco's first production knife with Z-Wear?

Been thinking about a Shaman, and lo and behold, sprint run in Z-wear. That’s crazy. Will probably be impossible to obtain. The swayback looks cool, and I hope will have better action than my Spydiechef. Thinking about picking up the K390 Delica. Haven’t tried a Spyderco lock-back yet, because of not being fond of the system, and was curious about K390. Will be somewhat silly having a working steel on a Delica. Also entertaining the idea of copping a Pochi. We truly live in unprecedented times.

seems to be a significant (MSRP) price increase on the Native Chief S90v Sprint; Reg S30v ($240), Sprint REX-45 ($245), Sprint S90v ($350). Is this normal?

Am I correct that the MAP price of this cf/s90v Chief will be $245? If so, it's normal (not super crazy but definitely not super attractive to me), considering the knifeworks cf/ti s90v Military @$280, though it was discounted to at low as $200 and still sat for a while before sold out.

Just arrived a few minutes ago.....

I’ll be getting a K390 Endura for sure...I am surprised the Z Wear Shaman wasn’t a PD1 model since they made a Mule from it.

Hoping to see SPY27 models on the market soon.

I'm sick of the small sprints. Reminiscent of the ZT psycho aftermarket. Spyderco needs to take action against scalpers/flippers!

I want a Zwear, but I doubt I'll get one

Scalpers are arrested outside pro events. There are states that outlaw gouging! This isn't a minor issue. Bladeforums.com is breaking the law and Spyderco is turning a blind eye

So, who's buying a Pochi w/S45VN steel and Ti scales when it's released?

Gotta give Spyderco credit for continuing to come out w/"innovative" knife designs. It's not for me but it would look interesting paired w/a Dodo.

On the other hand, the 4" Yojumbo is probably a "must buy" for me:

. . . just because I can't resist a knife w/a 4" blade. LOL! ;)

On the other hand, a S90V Native Chief is a hard pass for me because the S30V NC that I already have is good enough.

The Canis that's being touted as an SD knife (always an interest of mine) and you can see some resemblance to the Yojimbo in it but I see no reason to buy one if you've already got a Yojimbo and I've already got 2 and maybe 3 if I buy a Yojumbo.

On the other hand, the SpyOpera is intriguing, despite having only a 3 3/8" blade because the blade is made w/M390 steel and because its a lionSteel design collaboration made w/Ti liners and brown canvas Micarta scales plus a deep pocket wire clip that the Yojimbo should be made with as well.

Will definitely give the SpyOpera and Yojumbo a close look when they materialize but I'm still waiting to see a Siren offered on Spyderco's website where as an OpFocus member I am waiting to buy it.

Time to dial back the rhetoric. We all want what we want and sometimes we get it, and sometimes we don't.

Bladeforums is not violating any laws and it's absurd to suggest it is. Any further commentary of this sort will be removed from this thread. Start a thread in the service and support area if you wish to continue with your conspiracy theories.

The Canis looks interesting. I like the wharncliffe profile with reinforced tip.

Scalping and gouging, and any laws that apply to those subjects, have nothing to do with people buying and selling knives.

If you buy a consumer product, like a knife, a Beanie Baby, a football card, there's no law that governs how much you can sell it for.

It's normal for highly collectable items to sell for higher amounts on the aftermarket, especially when quantities are limited.

With the last "Reveal" in mind, I'm tired of waiting and waiting for some exciting knife to finally be listed for sale ... and then they sell out in seconds and I literally never even have a chance to buy them. You can only frustrate potential buyers for so long before they decide to go look at something else... the last few weeks of trying to buy Spyderco XXXX hasn't been fun for me. Who wants to endlessly reload web pages and wait for email notifications only to see "Out of Stock" everywhere you look? I have no idea what "the answer" is but I can tell you it isn't fun for potential buyers.

Quality goods are always in short supply. Things that are in short supply sell for a premium.

Rough Rider knives are readily available at low low prices.
