Spyderco CPM S110V MIlitary Full Review

The knife held up good and took quite a while before I needed to fully resharpen the edge to about 15 dps. I put it on my SiC stone for a 320-400 grit finish and felt very hard and wear resistant. I don't plan on regrinding this one until its .025" behind the edge.

I'm back to say thanks once again.

Guys, I uh...well, obviously Jim did about a trillion times more cutting than I've done with this test of his, but this last weekend I shredded about twenty boxes in my garage (spring cleaning was a bit late this year) along with some other cutting chores, and I gotta tell you, this edge still drop-slashes post-it notes just like it did before I did any box-slashing at all. Shaves hair with zero issues just as before.

I have many really nice knives, and I've done a lot with them, but when I do work with those, the edge wears accordingly. This one however...nope.

This PM2 came with the factory edge (I'm not really comfortable changing the grind angle or anything so I've done nothing to it) and right now, this second, it feels like this past weekend never even happened. I am sincerely impressed. I'm going to give it a few strokes on the strop this weekend, just to keep it pristine.

If you need a lightsaber, sorry, they don't exist. Get yourself the next best thing, a Military, or a PM2 in S110v instead.

That is impressive! Is the factory edge 20 dps?

Awesome feedback, thanks. :)

I had not carried a folder for four of five years till recently.
When I got the S110V Military and after my regrind it was my constant companion.
I ended up selling it last week and had to turn around and get another because I actually missed it.
Hopefully the new one will be here tomorrow or Thursday.
It truly is a great knife.

Well Chris hope you don't sell the new one. :D

They carry smaller than people think. :D

Yeah, thanks to you...and a few recent discussions with some guys from Bragg, so not entirely all your fault :) I have spent a lot more time than usual studying folding knives in urban survival scenarios, and no not in the folding pry bar type scenarios :D , and I am really liking this particular model for several reasons. So I have spent an inordinate amount of time perusing the Spyderco catalog the last two days, that is all your fault by the way :p, and I am still liking this particular model best for a number of reasons. So I this thread is of great interest to me. The tasks you have put it through have really impressed me. I will be sure to tell the wife it's all your fault when I buy it :)

She will blame me for sure. LOL :D

The Military is a very well thought out design IMO. :)

Lol, I don't know, I've tried the blaming others route before to no avail :)

I have been looking at it very closely, and I believe you. It certainly looks very well thought out from multiple perspectives.
