Spyderco dragonfly kept me out of the hospital today...true story! Thanks Sal!

You are very welcome Sal. And thank you for designing and producing such great knives. The things you create make me happy...seriously...like "little kid" happy! I'm sure a lot of others on here can say the same. That's the best compliment we can give you. I have no idea why it took me so long to give em a chance, but you've got me now! Keep doing what you're doing.

Ah, and in case someone's wondering why I'm holding that snapper with a pair of pliers like a big sissy....here's a look inside the mouth of one we speared last year. :-).

Is that a Cubera Snapper? Nice fish!

Cool story and awesome pictures! Something similar happened to a friend. He yanked the pole as a flounder was near the surface and the extra hooks on the lure got stuck on his chest with the flounder still attached. It's always funny when someone reenacts the story and pretends to be him petting the flounder and talking to it softly while it's still attached to his chest! :D

And fyi, H1 steel is supposed to get harder after each sharpening. Maybe you won't see as much rolling after using and sharpening it a few times.

Today I had a big one on and he charged the kayak full speed. WAAYYY faster than I could take line in. H came straight at the boat and I ducked like a soldier in a fox hole. Hehe. He covered about 20 yards in three jumps, the third jump right over the bow of the kayak before breaking loose. And that is the second time that's happened this week. I've only been fishing from the kayak since January, but I have become VERY respectful when I hook a needlefish! They aren't that big a deal from the deck of the boat, but when you are sitting at water level they are quite dangerous. I read the wiki article and ill add one story. Surfer lost his eye to one a couple of years ago right at my local beach.

Here's a fairly large one, but I've caught way bigger.
