Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2

Anyone know if knifeworks has them. I pre-ordered it several months ago and am a little irked that other companies have them in stock but my order is still not available
Unfortunately, they seem to be going the route of way in advanced pre-orders with the knowledge they can never fulfill all the ones they get. On top of that, the order in which they fulfill the pre-orders has no rhyme or reason. I like you pre-ordered a long time ago, and have seen reports of people getting from KW on a few day old pre-orders. Very irritated that Roger has gone this route. KW was my go to, but I've waited a long time for two pre-orders and then cancelled when I sourced it elsewhere. For this knife, that may not be a big deal, but my HAP40 Endura was.

Sorry about the mistake. On a second view, it looks to be out of stock on Blade HQ.

Sorry, I might have snagged the last one.

I think this is pure speculation on your part. How can you not fulfill a regular production offering pre-order???? The answer is, that you can't not fulfil it being a regular production piece. I had a pre order with KW from july and the only reason i canceled is because i caught 2 in stock at another company. I was immediately met with an extremely polite email informing me that they were on their way and they were getting small batches initially. Ive always been taken care of by Roger and Co. At KW.

When did you pre order? I know for a fact that they are trickling out in SMALL batches at the moment. Why would you be irked? You placed a pre order with 1 company.... if you wanted one upon release why not try to get one in stock some where or even pre order with multiple companies and cancel others if one hit?

I guess I am more irked at lack of any communication. The knife isn't even listed on the website anymore so I have no way of knowing if I will get it before the end of the year or if it will be here tomorrow. I know the knife was listed as a knife from this year so I assume that in theory I should have a good chance of getting one very soon but I just would appreciate more communication on knifeworks part.

While i understand your frustration.... it comes with the pre order game. I don't see it as feasable for any company to have to update each individual person on their specific order until it comes in. Knifecenter sends out a WEEKLY email that reads the same way every week (and this is for a knife i probably wont see until summer or later next year).... its rather annoying. Putting down a company over a product they don't have is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Be patient, and im sure yours will come in soon. Best of luck!

That's disappointing... although if it's as slight as it appears to be in the photos, perhaps it really doesn't affect ease of hand sharpening that much?

Yeah, it probably won't if it's very slight. Sometimes a slight recurve is formed from oversharpening at the factory. But in this case I think it's by design. It's getting less likely that I'll prefer this to the GB1!. Mine should be here in a week.

Waiting patiently for its friend

Handled one yesterday, and I am definitely not a fan; much prefer the GB1. Handle was comfortable, but the liners seemed really thin and this one was really late, probably 80% or more. Definitely had a recurve (which I like), but just didn't give that robust, overbuilt and uber-smooth feel of the original. I was disappointed.

Do you ship to Canada? :D

For those waiting for one of these through Knifeworks, here is the email I got in regards to the Pre-Orders:

We have started these with the small quantities that we have received in. We still have pre orders in June to fill, which we are trying to fill the orders as fast as possible, but have only received in 10 so far. With the high demand, this will be a long wait.
Thank You
Ashley

Are you in Ohio? Which store (can PM if you rather)? If you're in Ohio close to CBus and want to unload it please let me know.

Great looking pics! I'm glad these are out. It's really the only folder on my radar at the moment. I'll be patiently waiting till they're readily available.
