Thoughts and opinions, please.
I want to get a serrated, salt-series knife. I like the Dragonfly, Tasman and Saver. Which would be your choice, and why?
I have also considered the G10 Dragonfly.

No specific use, just something different. I jumped the gun and picked the Talisman with the serrated blade. I break down lots of boxes, and I wanted to give a hawkbill a try. I really hoped there was a hawkbill Dragonfly, but only the Ladybug. I still intend to get a Dragonfly eventually, although it will likely be the ZDP or G10 version. Thanks guys.
Would a wharncliffe blade do what you need it to do? Just a thought.
I'm not trying to steer you either way, and this is not a recommendation, but my next small Spyderco will be the G10 DF. I'm really diggin on the Spyderco G10 these days and I've always liked that Talon looking blade.
I'm not very familiar with the rules in the specific sub-forums, so please excuse me if this is not the right place to post this.
I'll be happy to do it in other thread if I have to.
I need a little help/advice for a friend of mine who lives in Europe.
He purchased used Manix 2 with CPM S110V.
This is the way he got the knife:

He was very happy to have it and to use it, but unfortunately the knife broke in this area ( his actual picture):

Also unfortunately, he lives in a place, where there is not a big chase to have a Spyderco CS taken care of this...
He loves the knife and I'm asking in his behalf if you can give me idea how we can obtain another set of scales for it ?
I live in Florida and will be happy to purchase those from Spyderco and find a way to send it to him, otherwise if Spyderco mails those to Europe the shipping price will not justify the repair...
I thought I can ask here before I call Spyderco, maybe somebody already had such problem and they will give me some idea how to proceed, other than calling the manufacturer...
Thanks in advance, best regards!
Did take apart my new Schempp Bowie yesterday, and using a medium Sharpmaker rod knocked down all the offending razor sharp edges from the liners and the brass bolster.
It's now much nicer to handle, with edges still very "crisp" but no longer "sharp".
Also took no time at all on the Sharpmaker to get a screaming sharp 30 degree primary bevel (clean apex) and a 40 degree micro.
Knife came apart and went back together with no drama.....blade is still perfectly centered and opens buttery smooth.

Thanks for the prompt input, I did see something in this line coming...Yeah, like blades&wrenches said; you can find another more common Manix 2 G10 and swap the blade and handles, that way you can salvage his S110V blade. I've seen Manix 2's for like $60-80 range.
Also, maybe you can swap the FRCP from the other BD-1 Manix Lightweights? But again, those are about $60-80, and on top of that he would need to buy some hardware to replace the rivets as well, so that might actually end up more expensive than buying a G10 M2.
Either way, I don't know if that's a better option than just spending the money to just ship it to Spyderco, though.![]()
