Spyderco Green S110V

Mine went out on the 19th and are supposed to arrive on Tuesday the 23rd. I'm betting these are coming hot off the presses, I can't wait for that new knife smell :D

I am guessing you are really looking forward to this one. Usually its other people worried about it and you telling them all is well. Kind of a role reversal on this awesome steel:D

I've never tried a knife in S110V from Spyderco. I'm what you would call a steel junkie and this knife is somewhat special. I really wasn't intending my post to sound like a 5 alarm panic whistle. I have to remember where I post sometimes I guess. ;)

No worries, it didn't sound like a panic whistle, came off as bummed. I wouldn't reply if I really thought you were whining, or complaining about their site etc. I just ignore those posts. I could tell you were enthusiastic about the knife.

I placed the order on Thursday and received the knife on Friday. How's that for service?

Great knife, by the way. I am very grateful to Spyderco to have made such a great Forum knife available to us. But now I want the carbon fiber version, too...

Mine arrived today. I misplaced my standard $40 Walmart Native a while back and have been anxiously awaiting this one. It exceeds my wildest hopes. All the inherent goodness of the basic design with green (dark, not silly green) G-10, skeletonized liners and flat ground super steel. It's been a long time coming but well worth the wait! :D

Mine arrived today as well. This is my first Native, and now I'm definitely a fan of this design. Very comfortable and familiar handle ergonomics — very much like the Chaparral and Stretch in basic design (which is a good thing). And, needless to say, scary sharp direct from Golden, CO.

The "chainlink" pattern on the G10 is subtle —*it even disappears at certain angles, depending on how the texture catches the light. The design is such a light treatment that you can barely feel it dragging a finger nail over the scales, and it's basically impossible to feel with the pad of your finger or thumb.

Got mine today as well. Love the G10 pattern, and it's absolutely flawless

I got my shipping confirmation today. I'm glad that everyone is loving their knives so far. This S110V Native 5 is a special one no doubt. :)

Just got mine, and it's beautiful. The quality of construction is amazing. Excellent ergos. Centered blade with no play. A pretty sharp, toothy edge and evenly ground (14/17 degrees) with a perfectly sharpened point. 0.024 inches at the edge shoulder, so it's going to be a good slicer. Nearly perfect fit and finish.

The only nit I have is that the backlock is difficult to disengage. The latch has to be flush with the liners before it will release.

I didn't know Spyderco sharpened 15 dps
Or do they just shoot for in between 15-20?

The knives are sharpened by hand, so there might be a slight variation in them. I think they shoot for various angles, depending on the blade stock, thickness, and overall grind (implied function).

this is a very special knife at an even better price. I applaud spyderco for doing this.

Amen to that. At the forum discount price, it's a total bargain. Where else are you going to get a tough folder like the N5 with Spyderco heat-treated S110V for $150?

Mine came in yesterday along with my K390 Mules to Texas with the free UPS Ground shipping. The green G10 has a very nice texture to it and instantly became my favorite G10 handle from Spyderco. The overall fit & finish are outstanding as expected. If the S110V performs anything like my 10V custom then I will be a happy camper for years to come. Hats off to Spyderco for offering this very special knife at such an attractive price.

I got mine last night, the last delivery for the brown truck. The guy rang the doorbell and said, "here ya go, enjoy your Spyderco". :D It' s a great knife.
