Spyderco HAP40 Thread

Only saw that I missed them on blade HQ, not sure who else has had them, I've been checking the usual suspects today. Too bad I missed the delica though that's what I really wanted.

A follow up, for shipping or still waiting for your preorder (like I got)

Still waiting.

I didn't preorder it until a couple weeks ago so I'm sure I'll be waiting for a little while. I was late preordering a Stretch but got one so hopefully this will work out too.

Yeah, I'm waiting for 1 of my 2 preorders to pop and then I'm dropping the other one.
Time to sell some to make room for new. :) (and cover the CC unhappiness)

Love this knife...

Thought I post a couple pics of the blade thickness of the HAP40 Delica and Dragon fly (ZDP), they appeared to be the same

Haven't receive my HAP40 dragonfly yet but are they thinner than the regular ones as well?

My HAP40 Dragonfly appears to be slightly thinner, although I'm not sure how they achieved it if that is indeed the case. On the Delica you can see where they ground it thinner. There's a distinct line and color variation just below the HAP40/SUS410 marking, which makes sense because the blade tang would need to be the same thickness as the regular Delica in order for there not to be any side to side play. However, this line doesn't appear on the Dragonfly. So maybe it's my eyes playing tricks on me and the Dragonfly really isn't any thinner.

Just got myself a HAP40 Stretch. Still carrying my Delica regularly, and occasionally the Endura.

So excited to see more HAP40. This really should be a mainstay steel choice in the lineup, like VG10 and ZDP-189 has been.

I still carry, use, and really enjoy Aogami Super Blue... but in comparison, the HAP40 just seems like it may have an even greater overall appeal, and would really make sense to have as regular production. :)
