NO MORE ABUSE, its hurts my heart, :(!!(kidding) Poor knife, I could of used that thing to cut for the rest of my life + a few generations :D I love my S90V Manix 2 more than I think any spyderco/folder I have ever used. I dont abuse my knives, or expect to ever be in a position where I would ever need to use it like a mad man so this test doesnt change my mind on the M2. The action/user friendliness & slicing ability/wear resitience of the manix 2 (S90V version) is out of this world. Cant wait for my foliage one to come.

oh and btw newb:p, Im sure you want this in the most popular part of BF's but this thread was posted in the wrong forum, it should go in the Knife Reviews & Testing section

Actually the topic in another thread was started here in General. ;)

So this really does belong in General since it goes toward the other thread.

Hmm, figured since the title says "test", that it would belong in the "test" forum. There I go thinking again :p

LOL, so after 17 pages this thread gets moved to the "correct" location? You should have left this topic where it was. This move seems like heavy handed censorship.

Once I reprofile the edge on the Recon 1 it will cut a lot better.

The Striders edge I leave at 20 degress per side because of my use for that knife.

yours may be different, but both my recon and lawman had uneven grinds.

they were ground to be aesthetically even, but were not consistent with each other mathematically. on the recon you could see the edge curve toward the tip.

one side is right about 15 degrees, the other was closer to 25 degrees. so sharpening resulted in a reprofile of one side and not the other.

now both mine are at 30 degrees inclusive.

Yup, a lot like the 'censorship' that librarians perform when they move a book from the wrong section to the correct section.

And as a surprise and as a control video I shot one using the CS Voyager just to show how far we have come being the Voyager is a regular lock back. It didn't fail, but the knife developed a ton of up and down blade play due to the over strikes.

So in effect the knife passed, the lock didn't fail and it was still in one piece but it was wrecked in the process...

Proving the back-lock LOCK is nice and strong.
What the Tri-Ad lock does is correct for the slightly annoying up-and-down wiggle which lock-backs are prone to, and I commend Mr.Demko for that.
However, it seems the actual lock strength is about the same, which is exactly what I thought would be the case when the lock was introduced, and after seeing pictures of the mechanism.

Not really. ;)

It almost failed...

I thought it was going to close at one point because it did give a lot and stayed partly closed until I moved the blade.

I tested it as a control knife, standard lock backs can't really handle over strikes, it kills them quickly, tears them apart.

The Voyager is one of the stronger lock backs on the market, CS knows how to make a strong lock back.

I still want to see a Chinook 3 test.:)
That thing has better and deeper lock engagement than I've personally seen in any CS lock-back thus far.
Oh to be made of money...:D

I know what you mean. :)

It was a warning not to repeat what I am doing here in my testing because it can damage the knives and void warranties. :)

I don't recommend that anyone repeat any of my tests.

This is odd.

Almost 8,000 views, 333+ replies and going on 18 pages in 4 days and now they move it… ROFL :D

*added* Its not odd, what seems odd to me is that You are a paying platinum member and you know that THIS forum is the proper place to post reviews. However, You post the same thing in multiple forums (the other being the most frequented on this site)? Are you above the forums? Why is that even needed? Its just a test right? Whats the problem?

Someone likely cried like a little girl that's why they moved it....

If not they would have left it...

you have way too much time on your hands eric.
