I'm looking for a good tactical/EDC knife to carry with and without my Glock. Which would you choose and why, please? Which knife is the best of the two? Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to learning here on the fora.

I don't think there is a "best" between these two. They are both excellent knives of high value IMO. Personal preference should be the deciding factor here and that is yours alone to decide.

Thanks. The problem is that I am relatively new to this hobby and I will not have the chance to handle and examine the knives before buying. Which knife would you prefer? And what do you think the consensus would be here?

I agree with everything said by LastRodeo. As for my personal preference I like the 0350 more. I am not big on the lock for the manix and I think the ZT 0350 can handle a little bit more hard use!

I'm a fan and collector of both Spyderco and ZT. In this comparo I choose the Manix2. Good steel , good feel and built rock solid. I much prefer the Ball Bearing lock over any liner lock. And I hate flippers. I own a few hoping they'd grow on me and they just don't do it for me.

If you're like the rest of us, you'll end up getting both eventually ;) I have a feeling the 0350 and a Glock would make a nice pair. I also recommend you purchase from one of our top notch BF dealers.

I'm not sure what carrying a firearm would have to do with which knife you carry, but both Spyderco and Zero Tolerance are quality knife manufacturers. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

The ergos of the Manix are, to me, far superior to the 0350. I still like the 0350, but would take the Manix 2 over it any day.

I think this is like comparing apples to hard liquor. you have a tough, hard-use, chunk of a knife in the ZT that opens w/ authoritah. Then, you have the smooth, slice-o-matic, manual Manix that can do some nice, precise cutting.

so, as others have said, GET BOTH!!

Not sure why people seem to think that the Manix is light use and the ZT is hard use. I think the Manix 2 is harder use than the ZT 0350. I think you would be quite surprised with the Manix 2. I would take the Manix 2 over the ZT any day of the week if I had to trust my life to a knife.

I have several Manix's and had a ZT 0350.

Both are great, but I vastly prefer the Spyderco for the following reasons:

-More comfortable. The ZT grip feels short for my medium-sized hands and it sort of cramps my fingers together.

-I love the choil on the Spyderco, as well as the blade shape. Though the recurve on the ZT is nice.

-The Manix also weights a little less and has an ambi lock and jimping up the wazoo.

Get the Manix. Specifically the new FFG ones :)
Oh, but if you do decide on the ZT, be sure you DE-assist it. Makes a great manual flipper. Very smooth and easy action.

I like the beefiness of the zero tolerance. The Manix is ok but I like the flipper action of the 350 better than the spydie hole

Its the build that I'm referring to. The ZT looks more tactical and hard use, while the Manix looks more light-weight and precise. Never said the Manix was light use and it can do more precise cuts than the ZT. I agree, the Manix is a VERY tough blade, but the point I was trying to make was these knifes are NOTHING alike and therefore its pretty hard to compare the two so choosing would be based on preference of design.

You are the second person today to inform me of a dislike of the assisted opening mechanism. The other person was employed at a knife shop in Maryland. Interesting perspective to consider...

Flippers are not always assisted. Manual flippers are pretty cool, but I personally hate most assisted blades. The novelty wears off really quick.

My Birthday is in the near future. You guys should gift me one as I'm a new member here. :)

I would patronize a BF dealer but I'm expecting a gift card in the near future.
