Spyderco quality control drop?

If i knew how to post pics here i would
Pretty straightforward.

First, create an account at a photo hosting web site like Photobucket. Then, upload your pics to the hosting site. Then post a link to the image itself (not the html, but the jpg file) and surround the link with the IMG and /IMG tags enclosed in square brackets. [IMG ] and [/IMG ] but without the spaces.

I must be doing something wrong. I get in lots of Spydies, and they are all perfect. Yeah, maybe my eyes are old and not so good as they should be...

Correct, i was not expecting perfection but i do expect the same quality as my other Spyderco knives, the "Drop" is intended to be the dissapointment value.

I have contacted Spyercos QC dept and left a message, knife works appologized and will replace and inspect before sending

I wouldnt exactly call that "flawless". From the pics anyway, the final grind looks quite uneven with a much more acute angle towards the tip and approximately a 1 cm plunge towards the ricasso.

There is something wrong with your eyes. If you think anything on that knife is off by a whole centimeter, you're blind.

Joining this site takes a fraction of the time that trying to get a good pic, transferring it to your computer, opening a posting site account, uploading photos, and posting them here does. I dont often post pictures on internet forums either. Not everyone wastes their whole lives on the internet:rolleyes:

Why would someone open an account on here and take the time to post a detailed criticism/issue about a product on here for no reason. Your just being silly imo. I could see if he was outright slandering or bashing maybe but, come on.

Not everybody has two admitted usernames either...

That's being silly IMO, and blatantly against bladeforums TOS.

There is no reason to doubt the guy or give him credence either. He hasn't been here long enough to go either way.

OP, pics would go a long way to help you out.

That's awesome. Well I hope you like the one ya get back.
Thanks for confirming, i dont belong here
Hey, there's jerks everywhere in life. Internet is no different. I'd get to know the forum, you could really enjoy yourself but it takes a bit to get used to the culture and realizing who to ignore, etc. I think you're doin fine.[emoji106]

I'm sure Knifeworks will make it right if there is indeed an issue. Thank goodness he didn't pick up an exclusive from another retailer and encounter a problem; be up a creek sans paddle.

Happens quite often. You have been here long enough to know that. Drive bys.

And again, signing up for a photo hosting site takes no longer than signing up here once, let alone as long as the time needed to sign up here twice.

Like I said, photos would be a game changer. So would coming back to comment.

Also, some host dont require a sign up.

Tinypic.com for example is quite painless.

I remember seeing this on Facebook a couple of days ago where you can really zoom in on the pictures. That pivot screw looks horrible, much worse than what you can see on these. I cannot honestly believe it came from the factory that way. I'd have to guess someone got it, took it apart, and did a horrible job putting it back to together and then maybe returned it after tinkering with it. When you placed your order they maybe sent you that one instead of one that hadn't been unboxed at all.

Thanks for the Pics. It helps a lot! I wouldn't be happy either. Knife works will take care of it. In the future, perhaps contact them or Spyderco first before starting a thread like this. And to the title, one bad knife does not represent a QC drop.
