Only people buying this are Kingdom Armory fanboys. I just don’t think there are enough of them out there to justify this “midtech” Spyderco version.

This Stovepipe is just a semi affordable Kingdom Armory - Butcher. Look at KA Butcher prices here…

IMO Kingdom Armory is way overpriced to begin with. I guess they need their cut of these Spyderco profits too lol.

The prices have indeed gone up dramatically. Spyderco went from blue collar work knives for professionals to semi custom prices. I used to collect Spyderco exclusively but i started to look around at other brands lately.
so true, almost across the board. soon they will have a pre auction for who gets to buy one at full boat... LOL.
Or, just never have them available like TRM.
comedy.

I'd venture to say Spyderco did their homework and will have no problems moving all of them at that price point. But maybe they should've asked for advice on here first from all the marketing experts.

It's not a attractive knife to me but price wise in today's market for the customers this is aimed at, $450 for a knife isn't a big deal. There's tons of knives at that price point that dealers cannot keep in stock.

Consult a forum with hundreds of bonafide knife aficionados? Don’t be ridiculous. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

$450 for a 2.8” titanium cleaver made in Taiwan is a bit much IMHO. That’s the same size as a chaparrel.

Full disambiguation I don't like this knife.

I also didn't like the Slysz Bowie or the Bombshell. I'm pretty sure that's just coincidence.

Spot on! I would imagine that production #s will be very low. This knife is solely intended for the uber passionate Spyderco collectors who like funkiness. Similar to the certain highly allocated/flipped wines (see DRC/Leroy/1st growths/Screaming Eagle/Rayas), Spyderco is attempting to erase flipper arbitrage and let all profits go where they should, to the maker. This is not a knife for me, but, I guarantee you that Spyderco did their homework on demand and resale.
Spyderco plays very well in the $150-225 range. Above that, I'm looking at other brands - I just don't feel the return is there with Spyderco.

It’s expensive and I personally don’t find such design attractive but some will like it and will pay the $$ for it,
I don’t see anything wrong with Spydercos price tag, they are trying.
‘However, I find funny and odd to name your model “Failure to eject”… 🤣
