It is the knife and price combined that is the issue to me. I would buy it for a lower price. I can actually appreciate it, knowing the name comes from the hat, the knife being a nod to razor gangs of the past, wanting to be a bit more palatable than the previous custom name. The curve on the back, the same one on the Yojimbo/Yojumbo, was an early Emerson wave made for easier one handed opening of razors for Civil War veterans that were amputees.
But, I don't know, I do not mind larger knives, more cutting area, and this reminds me a lot of the Yojumbo. I just got a Yojumbo for like half this price, and for $120 less than the Stovepipe I can get one in a very good steel. But this knife is more interesting than I thought at face value, it isn't just another run of the mill pocket cleaver. Good on you if you like it!
