Spyderco Swayback. Why not a wire clip?

i agree.. why not a stonewashed ti clip at this price range ?? you have TI clips on the caribbean while the knife costs alot less. real shame you need to spend more money on a decent clip. really cheap from spyderco imo and might not buy because of this reason.

I almost put the trigger. But withdraw after I filled all payment info. A titanium framelock never works for me.
rdtshaw rdtshaw thanks for the head up. They still have stock when I checked right now.

I know what you mean, I have a few models that look good but just aren't my thing. I never learn. lol.

Right on RDT, thanks man! Copping one asap!!!

Look forward to seeing the results after it rolls out of the chop shop!

No problems with the Lynch 3-hole clip, though I didn't use the provided screws due to fitment issues. While the wire clip would have been more consistent with the Slysz line, the Nirvana's clip would have worked perfectly IMO. Also, as mentioned, the opening hole and access area is a little cramped!

Can anyone tell me if these are hard to extract from the pocket? They seem to have made the cut-out for the lockbar in the exact same location as the pinch point for the clip. Again. I thought they might have learned from the last two Slysz models they did this to that made it absolutely impossible to draw from the pocket. They later “fixed” this by angling the clip at some ugly and less functional angle. I liked those knives but the clip PLACEMENT ruined them for me. Un-carriable.

Please tell me that’s not a problem on the swayback. I realize this can likely be fixed with other clips, but a $300 knife shouldn’t need a new clip right out of the box.

Spydie Clip.jpg Got mine. Love the knife, don't care for the shiny clip. I also don't care for how far Lynch and MXG clips hang past the end of the handle. I found a spare black Spyderco clip in my parts bin. After opening up the holes to match the Taichung pattern, I used a Scotchbrite pad to turn the black clip into a psuedo acid wash coloring that is for me, better looking.

A wire clip would have made this one a must-have for me. As it is, my must-haves this year are the Pochi, and both big and small versions of the Swick coming out.

Received mine (in UK) and thoroughly pleased. Have the Slysz Bowie too, this is a brilliant stablemate.

First impressions - the blade is so tactile to touch and feel........yet that edge makes me feel like its ability is a cross between a tiger-claw and Hans Solo's lightsabre - very sharp out the box, highly capable, most impressive.

Handle ergos and size just right for my paw. Only thing is, got used to the thumbhole on the Bowie instantly, this will take a while as a tad too small/awkward just now. Practice...

My only wish is that the clip seating could be more in line with the finish and sophistication of the knife as a whole..........given imho it has a Sebenza quality, would it possibly not be more sleek and aesthetic too to c/sink the clip with a single c/sunk screw not unlike the Sebenza....? Just a tad surprised that the clip is attached with the age old plant-on raised screwhead 3-hole system. That said, still utterly love it - another Spydie keeper.
