Nice, I have been a fan of carbon steel for a while now. I find they are so easy to get sharp.

Haven't see these hit the lower end of the supply chain, but this new SRM T08 looks like a badass macho knife. Looks like SRM is stepping up to more prestigious steel and prices.

Not a real SanRenMu. SRM only uses 8Cr13MoV or 8Cr14MoV. Got the info straight from an SRM wholesaler out of China. Shoot me an e-mail and I can give you some contact info if you want to ask him yourself.

So the 910 Plus also is not a real SRM?

When you search "Sanrenmu 910 Plus" on at least one site you get, "MingRen 910 Tacical (cq) Folding Knife."

Exduct calls it a "fake" made by another knife factory. But a fake what -- why try to pass yourself off as an SRM when you obviously aren't and are going to be so easily caught and outed?

Anybody handled one of these yet?

Interesting. The T08 was on the SRM website. At least until the whole site went down. That's where I first saw it and where I got link to the vendor I pointed to earlier. Google cache still seems to show it, with the mention of Sandvik steel and all.

Is it a fake? Is the whole SRM site a fake? Wouldn't it be interesting if the fake SRM knives were even better than real SRM knives? The plot thickens...

The site you're talking about was in fact a sales site - it existed to dig up new wholesalers for the companies it showed products from. That's why there was also stuff from Ganzo and Enlan as well as those ceramic cooking knives. I'm not even sure what the real Sanrenmu site is.

That would be the one. That company apparently made a bunch of fake SanRenMu knives when SRM discontinued the 9XX series.

Is it just me or are the blades on the 763's all slightly off center. I just got one in g10 and aluminum and they are both off a little.

I bought from what appears to be different batches -- some are off, some aren't.

At least you can adjust the pivot on this model without a trip to the hardware store!

oooh nice. although i wish they had the A version as well. ahh well, it looks like i am on a mission to own one of every enlan. have yet to get a EL03, EL04 or EL06. have multiple versions of the others, gaaah.

also, the SRM LAND 905 is the smoothest opening one i have gotten so far.

I have about 15-22(15 now, 22 hopefully soon) assorted Enlan, Bee and SRM, LAND knives, but i have yet to try any of the Navy or Ganzo knives. i would like one or two of each, but i am thinking about just getting a Spyderco Tenacious for an extra 10 bucks over any of the blatant spyderco copies that Navy makes.

So far the Enlans have been all excellent large folders, the large SRM's are amazing, and so are many of the smaller well known designs, from what i have heard the Navy's are a lot more hit and miss, low fit and finish and more expensive, which is why i have yet to pull the trigger on one.

When I’m feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things:

For those who have SRM, Enlan, Ganzo AND Navy, how would you say the Ganzo and Navy's stack up? i noticed Ganzo makes some knives for Gerber, and that isnt exactly confidence inspiring

I have a navy k506, the fit and finish isn't near as good as the SRM 710.

Also noticed some chipping on the blade after whittling the bark off a diamond willow walking stick. If/when I order more I'll probably stick with SRM.

Was it factory edge or has been resharpened? I found that thinning it out too much will result in chipping & putting microbevel will result in less chipping. K631 is what I tested.

@diablo,

From forum reports, yes, Ganzo & Navy are more hit & miss.

Personally, I only got 2 Navy k631, from Exduct (ordered with special note) & both comes ok, no major complain. One that's sharpened & used now has the lock engaging a bit deeper, causing he lock end (where you press) jutting out a bit (no longer flush with back spacer). No bladeplay at all though.

Blade steel is comparable to SRM & Enlan IMO.
