Here are some pics for comparing them (EL02B vs. EL06).

Thanks! Basically confirms what I thought, they are extremely similar. I think I actually prefer the EL-02B actually because it's thinner and flatter. I like G10 knives to be flat even if it doesn't make them easier to hold it makes them nicer to pocket carry.

I ordered the EL-04MCT instead.

And thanks for the info on the axis lock copy Chris, I guess I'll just wait for it to loosen over time.

Thank you!

How much time? I rarely look at the watch while working, but lets see...

Scales and Flipper/thumbstud removal was done in one session about 4-5h max, I'd say.
Stonewash and Edge were done in another session, Stonewash took about 1.5h, convexing the edge 30m.

Best,
Murphys Law.

Man this order is going to take forever, I didn't realize exduct isn't working because of Chinese new year, so nothing is shipping until later this week.

Looks like the SRM 710's are out of production now, real shame. Exduct still has some of the black versions (with that odd panther/fireball) though, I may just need to add a couple. I think I may do a second order with the EL-06PF.... it looks like a great knife, I found a video review and while it has some problems (the jimping is non-functional) it's nothing that many other knives don't also suffer from. Even some benchmades have that problem.

Here's the video review:

Does anyone else feel like these knives are seriously undervalued and it's almost shameful to get so much knife for so little money? I mean the EL-01 is still under $10! It makes me want to order tons of them because I just feel like prices will have to rise..... witness the SRM 962, the Benchmade Vex lookalike with blue/black micarta handles and axis lock. I think it used to be around $10 but now it's listed at $23. I hope the other knives don't follow suit. But honestly that's still a fair price.

So off I go and I find that there are now rosewood, gray, and khaki scaled Enlan EL-01's. I almost want to order them all to make a complete set with my black one.

I also see there apparently is a rival company producing a similar knife, the Inron MY01. Anyone have any experience with that one? They go for as low as $13 on auction sites.

EDIT: Wow! There's the EM-01 which is a mini EL-01 with 2.8" blade (no flipper but thumb stud!) and there's also apparently an EL-01 with damascus, anyone have one of these yet?

Does anyone have any experience with Greenway? It's a Kazakh online store but they have a bunch of rebranded chinese knives. Some of them look to be SRM/Enlans but some of them I haven't seen before, although I'd love to try them out:

EDIT: Okay to answer my own question, this seems to be a special run of the Enlan EL-03 with camo scales, never seen that for sale anywhere else.

Interesting variants. Have seen similar Bee models with damascus. It's not real damascus though, as sated clearly on Exduct.

Personally I am satisfied with what I have, thinking of unloading some spares and moving to Spyderco or Coldsteel..

I think it could be real damascus, they're going for $50 a piece instead of the usual ~$10. Also it's listed as "blade material: damascus." But yeah I'm not going to be the person to test whether or not that's a coating.

I recently cleaned out my sister's Bee L-01 tanto point folder. She is by no means a knife nut, she's what I would consider the regular person.

The blade had a small amount of blade play which and the knife was dirty.
The tanto point portion of the knife was dulled and possible microchipped. Who knows what she was cutting.
The rest of the knife was still hair popping sharp how I left it.

I disassembled the knife, cleaned it, lubed, and reassembled. Cleaned the teflon washer and the phosphorous bronze washer. No blade play, solid lock up still. I saw no real wear on the knife.

I wonder if the shorter one also is an Enlan, and if so, which model?

Got my latest order in. I have to say of the ones I ordered the EL-04MCT is by far the nicest. Incredibly solid, nicely curved handles that look nice too, and perfect lock up. Again the only issue is the springs for the Axis lock are very tight, but some might say that's a plus for lock security. Seems to be a great blade, it's amazing you can get one of these for $12+shipping.

I saw recently you can buy Chinese copies of Strider/CRK knives that have real titanium and D2 steel. They aren't quite as good as the real deal, but he fit & finish seems to be better than enlan knives. I won't buy blatant copies like those, but I wish Chinese manufacturers would make some original designs with better materials than Elan/SRM knives usually are. I would buy a good Enlan design with titanium/D2 for $40-$50 in a heartbeat.

That's another knife and not a special run of the EL-03!
Way different handle!

Would like to get my hands on that camo GREENWAY :) but can't find it anywhere!

What knife is that, and where can I get it? Love it.

Enlan EL08. Looks neat. May have to get one myself... Here's the description from one popular online retailer for Chinese knives (I believe linking to actual site is against forum rules, but if you Google "Bee & Enlan Knives", you should find it):

Enlan 2012 new Knife,EL08,frame lock,full-length 22CM, Handle Length 12.4CM,blade length 9.6CM. Sanding blade,thickness 3.5mm,9CR13 blade.Handle(front side)black G10,thickness of 6.0mm,Three dimensional Luo processing on surface. back side with steel cover,thickness 3.5mm, sandblasted.With tumbling clip.

Wow! That EL-08 looks very cool, although they're not for sale yet and slightly pricier than other enlan models. A full stainless steel frame lock though? That's gonna be heavy! This is what I'm talking about, if they instead produced that knife with Titanium on the one side, G-10 on the other, bronze/phosphor washers, and D-2 steel, they could still come in at around $50 and with Enlan's proven quality they would sell tons of them I'm sure.

I carried the EL-04MCT today and it's a great knife, really amazing for the cost. Better than the Benchmade Vex by way of comparison.

Here's another new one I noticed:

sanrenmu_Knife_715.jpg

This one is listed as a Sanrenmu 715. Liner lock with a 2 3/4" blade and micarta scales. I'm not sure if it's really 'new' or not, but I had never noticed it anywhere else before.

I think I might like that EL08 better, though. These look to be Excellent Products
