Stag Saturday - Let's See Some Traditional Stag!

A better pic of the Grohmann I posted aboveView attachment 2386930
You do such a great job with your photos of your Grohmann Alan !!!!!!! Have you found anything yet to make it a Second ??? I have yet to find anything on my Second . Mine was a little dirtier than I liked , but I remedied that pretty quickly .
Mine felt like it was Sharp , but my simple test showed that I needed to sharpen it right away . They are beautiful knives and well worth the cost IMHO . Mine is in my pocket today .

I think so but I'm not home to show you the photo. I'll show you tonight. The only thing I can put my finger on is that both the mark and pile side stag is thicker than necessary where they meet the bolsters. But since everything is the same I'm not sure if that makes it a second or not. Either way I feel like I got an excellent deal. For those that prefer rosewood over stag you're talking under $40. Hard to match that.
Edit: Their stag is quite nice too.

Evening Harry Old Engineer Old Engineer Here’s the photo I mentioned that might be the reason for my Grohmann being classified as a second. If so, it it doesn’t change how I feel about the knife.View attachment 2387826
That is about how mine looks . There are , or were , makers who regularly do , or did , that . They just did not make a smooth transition of the Stag to the bolster . I have at least one that is just ridiculous . Super Fat Stag and no attempt at a smooth transition .
AN old C.J.HERBERTZ : But the blade is reasonably centered

Hartskoph that I bought in Austria in 2017 which is about like my Grohmann

I don't know what Grohmann's Specification is for their workers to use , so it may be to their Specs .
Carry your nice new Grohmann in good health my friend .

That's some pudgy stag! Looks like it would feel similar to gripping a sweet potato!
