You do such a great job with your photos of your Grohmann Alan !!!!!!! Have you found anything yet to make it a Second ??? I have yet to find anything on my Second . Mine was a little dirtier than I liked , but I remedied that pretty quickly .A better pic of the Grohmann I posted aboveView attachment 2386930
I think so but I'm not home to show you the photo. I'll show you tonight. The only thing I can put my finger on is that both the mark and pile side stag is thicker than necessary where they meet the bolsters. But since everything is the same I'm not sure if that makes it a second or not. Either way I feel like I got an excellent deal. For those that prefer rosewood over stag you're talking under $40. Hard to match that.Have you found anything yet to make it a Second
Oh my!.....that's quite a variety of stag!Drug out all my stag gunstocks and my GEC #12s on a whim.
Both are very nice Gary !Rough Rider stag copperhead:

Some superb ridges on that Stag
That is about how mine looks . There are , or were , makers who regularly do , or did , that . They just did not make a smooth transition of the Stag to the bolster . I have at least one that is just ridiculous . Super Fat Stag and no attempt at a smooth transition .Evening HarryOld Engineer Here’s the photo I mentioned that might be the reason for my Grohmann being classified as a second. If so, it it doesn’t change how I feel about the knife.View attachment 2387826
Thank you. You too. Happy and healthy upcoming holidays. I wonder what makes it a second because honestly everything is symmetrical. I’ve seen that in many companies that sell seconds, they are often so close to spec that only they know why.Carry your nice new Grohmann in good health my friend .
That's some pudgy stag! Looks like it would feel similar to gripping a sweet potato! That is about how mine looks . There are , or were , makers who regularly do , or did , that . Some superb ridges on that StagIs that a re-fit job as the Stag is much higher quality than the usual grade?
