j2shoes...that knife is a beaut! Love the Bolster work...can you tell me a bit more about the knife please Sir?

Sure, it's a Tuna Valley Cutlery knife.
Made by Great Eastern for the Daniels Family.

It's kind of complicated, but it makes a lot of sense when you know the back drop to the whole story.
The Daniels family has the rights to Tuna Valley and they are having quality American knives produced for them.

Hey Nathan, after Ryan got it from GEC, he sent it off.
They made a few of them like this, I can't think of the name right now, but they are a great company that does some awesome metal works.

I'll see if I can't figure it out.

If you want some info on the Daniels family knives, send me a PM.
They have a website, but I don't want to say anything I'm not supposed to.

Wakey Wakey Thread!!

C'mon guys...how can we let a Thread that contains such beautiful knives like this sleep?

Occasionally I have a good look through this thread and just wonder at this beautiful material that looks at it's best as it gets older!
Here is a lovely Ka-Bar fixed blade that I recently obtained...I just fall for the Stag Handle and Stag Pommel every time-HARD!
Stag when it's aged and wellow-yellowed out its at its BEST!
Union Cut-Co Stamped, would I be wrong at ageing this at around 1920?, what seems to be its Original Sheath......

Very knice Ka-Bar Duncan. That is some great old stag. I don't think I've shown this jack knife yet. It was made by Harrison Bros and Howson circa 1880-1900. It is about 4 1/8 inches closed. The tangs, springs and bolsters are all flush at the end. The second photo (left) shows this and the size relative to a regular jack.

Beautiful knives and stag handles, everyone!

I agree with Duncan, that we should not let this thread sleep somewhere in the depth...

Here´s a "Ludwig Groten, Solingen" I got from a knife and after some research and asking here on BFC it´s dated roundabout the 1920´s. My friends grandpa used it as a working knife. I love it... More pics soon! I love that creamy-worn-out look of the scales!

So much depth to this stag, it's almost 'jigged'

I like the square-end construction, Barehead style and ringed bolster. In fact, I like EVERYTHING about this knife except that it's not here with me:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

HAHA..Well said on that Will!..I agree totally with you...thats a absolutely lovely knife of SK's!
