Standard (Medium) Chopper or Lightweight: Which and Why?

Going for tried and true Terotuf. My brother is going for Vintage. So I guess I'll get to experience the difference.

*Edit: now I'm waffling back and forth since it says that the Vintage would be Nathan's choice. Or do the responsible thing and buy one of each scale...

I have TeroTuf, AECM/ECAM and Ebonite scales. Most of my choppers have TeroTuf.

It’s a great combo of grippy (dry or wet), and tough. The Ebonite scales may be a touch grippier, but they aren’t as tough as TeroTuf, and while they might absorb a bit more impact shock, TeroTuf actually does a pretty good job with that.

The only chopper I have that isn’t wearing TeroTuf scales, is the Behemother, that has the hen’s teeth scales (Natural Micarta with rubber inlay). Not only are these strikingly beautiful, the rubber makes them the grippiest out of all the scales I have.

Problem is, there are very, very few sets of these, and Nate swore he wouldn’t make any more, because machining the rubber inlays was such a PITA.

Pics or it didn’t happen. 😁 Just kidding but seriously can we see the pics.

Nice! Have a set of those too, but they're not currently installed, as I have ecam on my MC and Behemother.
They’re the grippiest of all the CPK scales I’ve used, and make the Behemother really easy to swing (don’t feel like you need to keep a death grip on it), and the contrast of the natural micarta and black rubber is strikingly beautiful.

It’s a pity not many pairs of these scales were made, and that they aren’t available anymore.

Yeah I was surprised when they came up for sale and jumped on them. Forget who...maybe Mat. Wonder how many there are.

I know they were available with the Behemother preorder (sale?), which was how I ordered mine (I figured I could always get TeroTuf scales, if I didn’t like these).

I can’t recall if they were available in any other preorder, and I don’t recall that many people ordering that option.

I love them also, probably the only ones that can dethrone the ecam. I couldn’t decide and was lucky to pick both up.
