Starting a new forum

There is no good reason why we can't have a Christian forum here. There are plenty of other community forums.
Absolutely no reason. It's easy enough for people to a avoid it.

There is no good reason to include one here either. Suppose you had the space you’ve requested: what would you discuss? Knives? The new Cold Steel "Spear of Destiny"? Why wouldn’t the topic be open to everyone? If you have a cool story about how Jesus used some wicked awesome bush-crafting technique to save his flock in the wilderness, by all means, share it with the rest of the class! I don’t think you need a special place to post something like that; I just don't see the point of an exclusive forum.

Hopefully most folks come here for the knife-talk and can appreciate and learn from the diversity of experience of its collective members.

Dear Madam or Sir,
I would like to have a forum to discuss feminist topics as females carry knives. This subject is important to me, as when I look into the mirror all I see is a woman with a Benchmade in her pocket.
Regards,
BA

Well geez, I guess we need a forum for transvestites who carry knives too, then.:D

Giving the Canadians a forum has started a slippery slope.

Ah the nuances of salutations.
So if we are all made in God's image, God is a woman as I am a woman, right?
The heck with this I need to mirror edge my knife.

We definitely need a forum for black Canadian gay Christian transvestites who carry knives.

Hell, if I was one, I certainly would.

Good one! I doubt though that there is one of those here. Whereas with over 100,000 members there are probably upwards of 50,000 Christians on bladeforums.

That's funny, Benny. Because if that were true, you'd expect the response to your request to be overwhelmingly positive. When, in fact, it's been the exact opposite. Most of the self-identified Christians who have posted here don't even think it's a good idea.

You know, Benny, I'll give you a little fatherly advice here. When everybody in the world is deluded except you, it usually means you're the one who has the problem.

I'm "very vocal" about my Christian faith and I'll gladly answer any sincere questions put to me when asked, but I think that a Christian Forum here at BF would do a disservice to the faith. There is a place and time, and though this is a proper place, it isn't the proper time. I couldn't support such a forum here.

I agree with David Guzik who wrote that our love for others must not blind us to their hardened rejection of the gospel. Our pearls of the precious gospel may only confuse unbelievers, who are blinded to the truth by the god of this age and may only expose the gospel to their ridicule.

I have to agree with Timcsaw here Bennyb. I feel like this topic is one much better handled in person or at least on a private/personal level where lives can really be impacted, not passing comments on a knife forum thread. Maybe we're wrong though. There are those who really have deep questions in life and those who only like to quickly voice their opinion as to how they see things currently. I'm afraid it would more of a train wreck than anything here than anything else.

As for the hateful comments others are posting, take note but don't take them to heart.

Really? A religious subforum? Look...I am not a hater of religion..I believe that it can bring out the best in people on Sundays..(look out for mondays though, as everything tends to revert back to the status quo)
This is a ridiculous concept..I have a church almost every two blocks from my house to any destination, north, south east and west. Walking distance man! Feeling sanctimonious? Walk down the block or visit an online confessional. BF is my escape from the this type of crap. Every week, I have at least one of 3 different faiths of "Christians" visiting my house, trying to save me?

Please do not come to save me here as well. If you feel you have done something that you need saved for, please seek professional help elsewhere as I have no such guilt.

I find christian/knifemaker offensive, to my other knife making friends.

For this I must put you on ignore.

What's your point? in your logic, that also means that there are upwards of 50,000 members who aren't. What I do know is this... There are upwards of 100,000 members who come here to talk about all things knives, and rightly so, as this is a KNIFE forum. Pretty sure that if I headed over to a similar sized religious forum and asked to start a knife related sub forum there, they'd tell me to come here. Get it? ;)

Christianity sub forum?

Oh my God! (wait, that's not good)
Jesus (ah, no, ain't better)
Damn! (Here we go)

As a long time fundamentalist charismatic Christian, Church Deacon for 20 years, and church librarian, please be advised that I would never frequent a Christian Forum hosted on BladeForums.

It's not the right place for it.

I was thinking more along the lines of Jethro Tull's "Wind Up." Good choice, though.

How about this; this is not publicly owned venue. The folks that manage this place said no. Sometimes, no means no.

You have been given explanations that you don't seem to understand or feel take into consideration your personal beliefs or thoughts. It isn't your forum to shape or modify as you please.

If both Esav and Elliot said "no".... you would be better off hitting your head with a hammer than pursuing this thread.

Seriously; start your own forum or blog and simply add it to your sig. I would bet that you would find more like minded people to enjoy fellowship with using that device. This thread is doing you no good at all as you are starting to sound whiny. And when these guys smell blood, you will be flayed mercilessly until they lock the thread.

Time to move on.

Robert
