Did he post about how he had to wake up his wife so she could watch the baby while he typed that email response to you?
 
What a coward . I believe that there are many more people on IG that he has burned . He literally has 10 page essays about his hardships .. Now dont get me wrong I felt bad for this guy at first but he continued his thievery and his whoppers got bigger and bigger . So I don't believe any of his problems are real . His back issues he wrote about and claimed nobody understands .. I understand .. I have them too , But I dont steal peoples money . I simply dont conduct myself that way . He cares what people write about him .. I have seen him delete posts numerous times . I called him out way way back and got bitched at back them . I always felt this guy was a bad person , Being a knife maker myself I take this stuff a little more serious than others only because people look at us like we are thieves like him . Well we are not all like this creep and I think half of the stuff he makes are blanks anyway that he tweaks a bit and calls his own . I really hope this is the last we see from this coward Ian Hall of Hall Handmade .....Jerk
 
I'll tell ya Marko, I have as bad a back issue as anyone. Unless I am in the hospital, I am working every day. Hasn't been a day in the last 15 years I haven't been in pain. 9 surgeries in 5 years and I get up every morning to go break my butt. I have a small HVAC company and if a customer calls on a zero degree day with no heat he is not going to hear how badly my back is hurting.
Seeing this tool post all that personal info to garner sympathy is nauseating. If it's not his back, it's his toe. If it's not his toe, it's the baby. Please!
Got divorced 17 years ago and got custody of my 3 boys. At the time they were 13, 11 & 7 years old. Raised them alone ever since. Easy??? Nope, but I did it, and ran my business.......gladly!
Can't find it in me to have sympathy for this guy at all.
I need to carry this card with me at all times.....
I set off many alarms!!

Man, I forgot about that rant from him. Simply unbelievable that he couldn't handle a PayPal refund while holding a baby, lol.

I read all those posts in pure disgust, as he tried to bluster with all of this "My family comes FIRST!!!!" garbage. Like, dude, no one was even saying that. It takes 90 seconds to send a payment by Paypal. It's a fact of life that NO ONE is so busy that they can't squeeze in 90 seconds to sign in, go to transactions, find the one, hit "Issue refund". The fact that that scumbag was trying to play a whole forum full of people who use Paypal almost constantly as we buy and sell, was frankly pathetic.

Either way, I'm glad he's not around here to scam people out of thousands of dollars anymore.
 
I feel bad, I bought one if his early works on here. I finally got it but I should have raised a big stink. When I look back on the runaround he gave me I should have run a red flag up the pole.
He basically got ran off this site, I pity any one sacked in by his BS. That being said, he can make a great knife, he was one of the first to offer cts-xhp with a good heat treating, and his wood work was too notch.

After another customer from Instagram inquired about his knife purchase from 6 months ago and wanted a refund Ian deleted the posts and stated he is closing his Facebook page and no longer will post on Instagram and people will have to contact him by email.

So anyone who needs to contact him do it by email.

I just read the 4-5 previous threads on this guy, wow. He said in the last post he would not take anymore orders, guess that was a lie. This really upsets me because guys like Ian hall are the reason people don't trust makers. I've seen and heard all the bs excuses.

I have a full time job (I'm salary so I work 9-12 hours a day), take care of my toddler son and oh yeah I have severe back pain and issues from my car accident. NONE of that has ever once stopped me from making a knife on time, and btw I don't give people unrealistic dates. He's not even making complicated knives, so no idea why this guy can't make some knives on time or refund people promptly. It's all excuses and I'm sick of guys like making makers look bad.

If you know you have issues then don't take the money, why is this such a crazy concept.

To customers: do your research before paying up front. Guys like this don't deserve your trust and money.

That is literally the dumbest argument someone can make. Who's family doesn't come first? I read this and thought he wanted a merit badge for caring for his family. I find people that make those proclamation tend to say that to convince themselves.

No offense but family and whatever equals zero when you take someone's money for an order. You make a deal, you honor it, no one cares about your sitcom life.

You know as well as I do, back pain has nothing to do with this mess at all. He is a thief and a coward, period.
When I went into the hospital for that miserable surgery, I did not take one deposit for any projects at all. I had no clue how long I'd be out of commission.
I let all my regular customers know what was going on.
I felt it was better to lose the work rather than hang someone up.
I love how he says he's closing his FB and won't come on the forums any more because he wants to focus on family???
Please!! He doesn't want to hear what a POS he is any more.

Why are you bragging that you take care of your family???? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!!!!

I had a very recent experience with Mr Hall.
Appr 6 weeks ago, I agreed to purchase 18 blocks of premium handle material from him for $600. I paid him with PayPal immediately and then.........nothing but excuses.
I filed a claim with PayPal and that sent him over the edge. I did get my money back from PayPal yesterday.
I would urge anyone waiting for product from him to file a PayPal claim immediately.
Unfortunately, he has strung a lot of people out so long that they won't be able to recoup their funds.
 
No shit .. All our families come first . Im a contractor too Joe and thankfully i never had to go through a surgery like yours . Man that looks rough . This scammer tells some real big whoppers I mean real big . I ran into his instagram page before he had his meltdown and shut it down . The stories had me shaking my head .. I said to my friend why in the world would you reveal so much personal info ?? And number 2 is I thought you were not taking orders anymore or going dealer only and then its like .. who are you talking to anyway . I think in his mind because a few guys said nice things about his work he puts up a facade like he is someone like Walter Brend or something .

Fact is that he is a fraud . He has been called out numerous times he has tarnished his name and proven that he is just a big poser , All this talking he did was to his imaginary friends and I honestly cant stand the guy . I actually feel bad for his wife .
