Stay away from MFCknifenTOOL (aka Matt Freeman NOT "CharlieMike")

This is why I do not ever use friends and family and it irks me when people do not factor in fees to their price. I'm sorry this is going to take 2.9% + 30 cents from you, but I am not going to purchase from you with zero protection for a 3% discount. I wish people would stop even suggesting this.

On another token, typically with trades in the computer community that I browse we always deal with the swap as two separate transactions rather than item for item so that both buyers have protection. Yes this is a bit of a hassle and paypal ends up taking a small chunk, but if you are questioning a buyer this is an easy way to get protection.

As for posting all of the personal information of the accused, I really don't like that. Absolutely go ahead and ban a user or pm the mods with as much info as possible to see if they can possibly sort out multiple accounts from one user and stuff like that but we really don't need to be digging around people's personal lives and trying to deal damage as far into their life as we can. Flush them from the system and leave them be. In most communities posting someones personal information is a bannable offense. Apparently it is not so in this one, but still it is best not to attack people's personal lives.

Really because this guy deserves to have himself saved by the mods? Lmao he deserves to have his family and friends know what a pos he is but something tells me they already know. He stole from a member here putting up his info is fair game he's the pos not the people he stole from.
Might want to read more and post less till you understand how we deal with scum here. He is getting everything that's coming to him remember he stole a knife that the op can't get back. If that's not a big deal to ya send me a nice knife and forget about me not paying you for it. Says the guy who has posted no where but sales posts other then this post here hrmm

Having his address public is a good thing. What's to stop him using anothe username? This cuts off another avenue for him to scam.

What a fu#king slimy drip of filth. There's a special place in hell for thieves.

Again.......the text number he posted 8102593107. Don't know if its legit but he posted it.

I'm definitely in to help with sending funds to help pay for your lost knife Ground0.

Yup!!
This info might save someone else if he comes back under another name......and garbage like this ALWAYS tries to scam again.

So you're in favor of providing cover for thieves to return under a different name to scam our membership again. Noted.

Yep, by having all this other info, some people may be able to avoid getting ripped off if they run across this loser somewhere else online.

I'm not saying he should be saved by the mods. What I believe should happen is the communication and trial should be private with the mods so we do not end up on a witch hunt. In many communities the way they would deal with it would be the mods would block that name, phone number and address from every signing up again and A public ban list would be compiled and posted so people know which contacts not to work with. If the problem persist they could look to block the ip address of the user. I am unaware of a public ban list that we could reference in order to check. Maybe that could be started now.

Also, thank you for taking so much interest in me and my post history. If you look closely you can see that I have never even tried to sell anything here; I've just been starting my collection,so if you intended that to mean you identified me as a threat then that is no bother to me because I do not plan on selling. I run an e-commerce business and have thousands of paypal transactions and I've been burned more than my fair share. I sympathize with the victim and believe the accused should be barred from the site, but I am not on board for a witch hunt

Some people may disagree with posting people's info ,but fact is nobody asked to be ripped off . In no time a person can be back in the community ripping folks off , at least if the address is posted some may recognize it and not get burned .

Goes back to the scammer , if they have kids in the house or whatever you shouldn't be ripping people off on the Internet or doing anything that could get your address posted .

We've had a few members riDE by an address to see if the house was vacant but to my knowledge no one has ever stopped or got out and did anything . That's when the law would turn in favor of the scammer and most of our members know this . Nobody is posting info to cause someone bodily or property harm nothing like that ,it's just another way of protecting yourself .

Which by the way it's very easy to get someone's address if you have their name . It's not like it's really private info anymore .

I disagree completely. Posting up their info is one of the absolute best ways to flush trash like this from the system. There are a lot of people who only come here to do business in the Exchange (like you, it looks like). So, by posting this info up, they do a quick search and see that that guy's a scumbag and then they are saved from whatever con that guy was running. Any suggestion that we allow these buckets of human waste to remain anonymous sounds an awful lot like an attempt at protecting the very people who come here to prey on others.

And that's deplorable.

Yep, this is why we always want the address posted up. Most thieves are lazy scum, and so they might give someone a fake name, but you can usually catch them when the Paypal address they give you shows their real name in your completed transactions list. Now, let's say this thief was smart enough to actually use another Paypal under a fake name. That's where having the address posted up comes in handy, because most thieves won't try to have stuff sent elsewhere. It'll be the same place.

That is why I brought up a public ban list. Does something like this exist? Somewhere there should be a list of all of the banned accounts and their info rather than hidden among various posts.

The problem is, all one needs is a valid email address and you can sign up under a new username with and no one would know.

There is a compiled list of threads in the Hall of Shame of people that it is highly advisable not to deal with. Also, if you plan to partake in the Exchange, keeping a eye right here in the GB&U is wise to see if there are any recent or past problems with members.

I don't know enough about IP addresses to recommend banning them (whether they are shared or not which may block out someone else), but do know that it is a tool that the mods used to detect returning banned members.

This thread is the perfect example of why a scammer's names, addresses, and other pertinent info should be posted. He just so happens to share a name with a well respected member of the forums and we want to be able to distinguish between the Good and the Bad.

That is fair. Sorry if I misspoke about banning names. That is not entirely what I intended. Thanks for pointing out the hall of shame. I was unaware of that

The Hall of Shame is something like that:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/803-Hall-of-Shame

The issue here is one of names. The moderators here are both exceptionally awesome, and also overworked. This is a big site. So, there's really nothing to stop me from creating a bunch of usernames under some proxy sites, and coming in to spam this place. That's the easy part, and it's why a ban list of usernames would be...well, not worth much.

But real names? Addresses? Realworld info we can tie these scammers into? THAT'S useful. And as such, is why on this board, posting of that information is allowed.

Exactly.

Also, it has to be a grievous incident for someones info to be posted. People's privacy is very important and is respected here but if you step over the line and screw someone, well, you reap what you sow.

I'm totally on board for a witch hunt in a case like this. It goes a long way towards making this as safe a place to buy/sell/trade as possible. So far my experience on the exchange is limited. 2 very pleasant purchases from great sellers. I hope to keep that trend going and if that means thieves and con artists get their personal info posted so they can be identified in the future instead of just using a different user name to pull the same crap, I'm alright with that. That new user name might post something I'm looking for. Don't rip anyone off and you shouldn't need to worry about it. I'm not.

Thanks for this valuable information. This lowlife, scumbag, criminal, is definitely someone I will be avoiding!

In a case like this ...... I am all in for the witch hunt and public shaming. Public shaming has been a very important tool used in many societies over the years/centuries ......you know, when we did not have all the crime issues we do today.
In this case the more people that know about this guy the better. No need to defend this loser.
