I'll pass. I have the Shockwood, 102 handled 117 and just don't like the feel of it.

I'm a big 117 fan, but a regular black phenolic handle ??.......a big Pass for me.

You aren't wrong, in my opinion. I have a few pieces but not really a fan. Would rather have buffalo horn, stag, or even dyed bone.

Well, I ended up getting one. I knew I would regret it if I passed on this. I went ahead and also grabbed a 117 Brahma sheath (MOLLE compatible). Normally I would have jumped on this knife, but was trying to rein in my spending due to Christmas. Hopefully, the December BOTM will be a pass for me.

I would love to see side-by-side pictures of a regular 117 and the mini 117 with the smaller 102 handle. Does it shorten the overall length, or just the girth?
