Still no knife from Dale Chudzinski

knifetester, this was a generous gesture.

I hope Dale gets his act together. From everything I've read here (and I've read the whole thread), it sounds like he needs an assistant to handle the business end while he concentrates on knife making.

I've been thinking this too, though I think it's more of a business manager/agent he needs (which to me is more of a partner than an assistant.) It might not seem like it up front, but Dale would probably end up more profitable that way.

No, an assistant is not what he needs. He needs to make the knives that he has taken money for. He needs to stop lying to people. He needs a conscience. He's a turd and a liar, an assistant won't help that.

He claims that there is more to the story than is being told here? Well then, why don't he tell it. Ask him to produce the emails that paint a different story. He won't because he can't. I haven't been any more rude to him via email than I have in posts here. Even if I bought into that crap about how he can't work on my knifes because he has bad vibes with me (he's told me more than once that my knives were done, going back as far as January 2005), that doesn't explain the many others with the same story as me. Read my first post on BF. Do I come across as unreasonable? That fact that he's claiming this crap pisses me off more than him stealing from me and lying to me does. I was more than understanding for the first year and a half, he took advantage of that.

knifetester, if you're serious, my paypal address is bobertrou@cox.net. I'll be happy to tell him that he can now owe you. If Dale Chudzinski had any integrity at all, he would take care of this himself. He should be ashamed that someone else is trying to right his wrongs, I know I would be.

Bobert:
I sent payment in full ($305 as you indicated) to you via paypal, non CC.
The transaction number is #4KF303425B320225U.

I hope this helps to ease some of the pain, and brings peace to this situation.

If you send me you shipping info, I will send you a knife of some sort as well.

BTW, what kind of knives should I be expecting?

Again, I am sorry for the frustration you have endured, and wish you the best of luck in the future.

knifetester,

I have received your payment of $305, Thank you very much. I sincerely hope he delivers these knives to you. He told me they were done a month ago, but who knows?

Dale now owes you a set of two matching full tang Nessmuks, a full size one and a mini. There was also supposed to be a real nice piece of wood that was big enough to make both handles out of (hence the matching set). I have asked him several times (long before this supposed "bad Vibe" BS) if he still had that piece of wood, I even posted here about it a few times, but he refused to answer that question, so I'd be willing to bet a dollar to a horse turd that it's long gone.

Thanks again,
Bobert

What has happened recently has shown Knifetester to be a guy that goes way above and beyond for a friend, but hasn't done anything to improve Dale Chudzinski's reputation. If he wants to try to get his good name back, it is him that should be taking care of his debts. At least now he will get these knives delivered, because they are being made for a friend.

.... Even if I bought into that crap about how he can't work on my knifes because he has bad vibes with me ....

That part struck me strange too. If you're the temperamental artist type and, for whatever reason can't fulfill an obligation, by all means return the money immediately even if the customer supposedly says he doesn't want it back!

Knifetester, I sent a email to you. If you don't get it, here is what I wrote...

Hi, I ordered a custom knife from Dale in Jan of 06. I paid $150 plus I gave him a knife worth around $100. So all around I'd say $225. Herre is the info about it back in Jan of 06 (on the Hoodlum forum). I also sent him a 1:1 scale drawing of it, so it'd be easier for him to get it done........

I found myself really liking Dale's (racquette) knives. Well, I'm going to have him make me a knife. It's going to be around 8" in total length. A 4" blade, with Maple Burl handles. The factors about the knife...

1. I wanted it to be great for self defense (if had too). So the blade I chose is a excellent slicer and also great at stabbing. It's got a pretty thin profile.

2. I wanted guards in the front and back to keep hand on the handle.

3. I wanted thumb file work on top for more secure cuttting.

4. I wanted a littlel bit of wood removed from the back so that if I battoned the knife from the rear, it wood not damage the scales.

6. I wanted the grind to be one that would allow the ability to slice and yet be strong enough to batton with.

5.I wanted a Mountain man styled sheath. I've ALWAYS wanted one.

Now Hoodlums, is there anything more I need to add/or should change. I This will be my new EDC knife for hiking etc. It's not made to be a chopper or anything (I have a Busse for that). But, it's strong enough I can batton with. I really liked that BRKT Northstar. So this is one reason for this small of knife.I think I covered most of the bases, but you never know.

Here is a pic describing it...

I really don't want the money back. If I could get this knife it'd be great. I'd even be willing to get it with no sheath to save him some effort getting caught back up. If you'd be interested in trading something I'd be so happy. A nessmuk with a curly handle will be awesome.

Dale seems like a nice guy. I hope the best for his situation.

My name is Jarrod and I live in San Diego. I met him on the Hoodlum forum where I go by privateisland

In an earlier post Knifetester stated that Dale told him he was only behind on a few orders. After checking out a few other forums I have to say that what Dale said is hogwash. He owes many, many people knives.

It is my understanding that someone very, very close to Dale is seriously ill. This kind of thing can totally change a persons priorities. If Dale were to contact everyone that he owes and explain the situation, and let them know what his plans are for the future, I am sure that most people would be understanding. He needs to communicate with his customers and not just leave them wondering what is happening.

Knifetester: I sent you an email through the forum, so i don`t know if you received it or not, hence:
You said in a previous post that Dale has shipped my blade, and i`ve sent him an email from my googlemail address, since he hasn`t answered my emails from my regular address. He hasn`t answered any of them actually.
So i`m wondering if you could contact him, and get the tracking number for my package, as i specifically requested one.

Aarya:
I have recieved no emails from anybody regarding Dale, including you. Probably an issue with the software here, or with the emails, or whatever. I also don't check that email account very often, as I just made it up in order to register here.

Privateisland:
I will pass the message along to Dale.

Keith:

I can not perosnally figure out who Dale owes knives too, I found some posts on other forums, but they were old and people may have received there knives in the interim.

You are right, that if people knew the situation, it would impact their views, but that is for Dale and his family to decide, and I must respect his desire for privacy in the matter, as I am sure you understand.

Again guys, I am sorry for the frustration many of you are feeling towards Dale right now, and I understand how the situation appears to some. But honestly, those that know Dale well will all tell you he truly does have a heart of gold.

As well, my offer remains open, anyone wishing to trade something from my collection for the knife they have on order with Dale, I am game.

uhhhh, I was actually proposing that people trade me their position on their knife from Dale for any non-Dale knives in my collection.

If you really need a Nessmuk I can send you one as a loaner. . .

If you want to work out some sort of trade, we can do that, I probably have some knives that you would be interested in.

knifetester: I`m sorry to ask this of you, but would it be much trouble for you, to ask Dale to give you the trackingnumber on my knife, and post it here, as i`ve been unable to get in touch with him through emails. I`ve tried to send him emails from two different email addresses, but no reply from him whatsoever..

Sure, next time I talk to him, I will ask him to email it to me. By that time, I'd imagine you would have your knife in hand.

Have you checked with customs to see if they are holding a package from the US in your name?

For whatever its worth, I have received no emails from anyone on this subject. So if you sent them, can you please tell me which address you sent them to?
You can also call Dale by phone, his number is on his website, that is how I contact him, as his email system is very unreliable (problems with spam filters of something).

knifetester: If you could do that, i`d really appreciate it.
I haven`t checked with customs yet, but the norwegian customs system is quite simple. Whenever they get a package, they either send it through, or send me a letter, letting me know it`s arrived. So i doubt it`s stuck there.
Ofcourse, that i can check when i get a tracking number too.

I sent an email to you, through the bladeforums system, so if you haven`t received an email from me, to the address you registered on BF with, i think there might be some problems with the system here.
I would call Dale, if i was in the US. I know it doesn`t cost too much for an international phonecall these days, but still.
Spam sucks. Period.

knifetester, it's a great thing you're doing here, man
but have you considered that you're putting too much faith in a relationship where you haven't even met the guy?
from what i've read here he certainly doesn't seem worthy of you
it'll be a real shame to see you get burnt, s'all im saying

Dale should be contacting aarya and providing him with a tracking number. What exactly is his problem with communicating with his customers? Does he think that all there is to making good is to put the knife in the mail?

Keith: Well, seeing as we agreed upon the method of shipping (and that i was willing to pay the extra money for him to ship it by a method which gave me a tracking number), and the fact that i informed him that i`m an utmost controlfreak even before i paid the paypal invoice he sent me, i would say that he knew to send me the tracking number.
But, i also know of the perils of spamfilters malfunctioning. However, i think this is getting humorous, or even ridiculous. Anyway. We`ll see if knifetester can get a tracking number from Dale.

I don't know if Dale ever sent you an email in the past, but if he did then your email service will recognize the address and not filter it out.
