Stockman roundup.. Lets see 'em...

This one has blade and handle etch. Both of which I generally avoid but I'm really liking this one for some reason.

That gives a whole new meaning to "scales". Oddly, for a fellow that started a thread griping about etching on knife scales, that looks okay to me. I can't really explain why. But, it's pretty cool. - Ed

This thread is making me giddy! :D

 If it is making you giddy, then you can only imagine how it is making me feel.

There's been a world of stuff added since I posted to this thread. Wow some sweet stuff here. Those Cripple Creeks are just fantastic. That is a brand I didn't even know about when he was producing. Bummer!

MMmmm.. Tasty! I like that frame and I love that squash colored bone. Now if she only had a punch blade I'd be on the hunt right now.

A beauty just the same. :) Is that D-2 steel?

They are stainless 420 HC

It's stainless but I'm not positive which one.

Its likely either 420HC or the more desirable and higher quality ATS-34.. If its ATS-34, it should be marked on the tang somewhere.. 420HC is a very usable steel and is more than adequate for a hard use user slippy!

Best,
Anthony

The Uncle Henery kinves are just plan sexy. Something about the material they use and how they layout the design. Very easy to pick them out of a group of knives. I just ordered two more Staurday and cannot wait until they show up on my door step.

Finally got some time to get the camera out.:o Here are a couple of old friends. 1st off a full size Case I bought in 1970 at the hardware store in Encampment, Wyo.

I've actually been there! (Not the store, but Encampment!

Was on a two-up motorcycle trip with my missus and was on the way to MT to visit Rob Simonich in Clancy.

I don't think I posted in this thread yet. These are my only stockmans (stockmen?). I got the CSC 2nd hand without the box but it looks like carved amber or caramel bone. The 2nd is a Rough Rider in black micarta.

Well I'll be... I sure got a lot of good memories from there, I won the bull riding there 2 years in a row.

Well done, Dave!

I guess the riding I was doing (on a Beemer at the time) was a whole lot less taxing. ;)
