Stockman roundup.. Lets see 'em...

The stockman is my favorite pattern, honestly I haven't gone overboard, these are my edc's. I really don't have too many. My current edc is a 18 yr old, beat up 1992 vintage Queen that I rescued from a junk box at a local flea market a few weeks ago. Knife just takes a razor edge.

that's nearly enough for one each day of the month.
i'm still working on the days of the week.

The Bulldog is one of my favorite all time knives!!!;)

I never thought I was much of a stockman fan until I pulled all of them out at one time. Hmmm....seems I have a few. From the top, left to right: Moore Maker 5301 in Tan Smooth Bone, Moore Maker 5301 in Yellow Smooth Bone, Colonel Coon made by Imperial, Schrade 881, Schrade Old Timer 8OT, Schrade 505SC, (bottom) Kabar 1097, Canal Street Basham Limited Edition (Orange Curly Maple), Schrade Walden 835Y, Schrade Walden 832, Northwoods (2008 Forum Knife), and Schrade 825SS.

The Moore Makers and the 835Y make it into the pocket the most, followed by the 881 and 8OT. I really need to get a Case CV stockman, don't I?

Better late than never right?

This picture is somewhat old. I'm up to 40 in the case now, but haven't had time to snap a new pic yet.

Just recently picked this fella up. An original bone handled 8OT circa 1961. Been looking for this one for a while

Another 8OT thought to be a transitional knife, in between the bone handled one above and the well know delrin handle scales.

Lastly, some Herman Williams goodness, a Schrade 881 and an 885 Uncle Henry

Typically I am not fan of Celluliod scales as a rule, however, the following two vintage kick'n chick'n Stockman pattern slipjoints are quite worthy exceptions to my rule to be certain!. These are my very favorite Celluliods :D

A 1986 "Little Joker" End of Day Celluloid Stockman production.

And a recently acquired contest knife I was fortunate enough to win here from a fine Traditional BF.com member, Ed. She is a 1993 "Rise and Shine" Stockman.

Here's my latest ... just a simple dark brown pick bone Eye Brand 350 Stockman. This one fits great in the pocket and will get a lot of use.

Couple of great users, cousins of sorts.

A Camillus 69 and a Schrade Walden 881, both 4" stockman.

I've always admired this great Eye Brand stock knife which was posted earlier in the thread by Cal:

This 4 3/8" Moore Maker stockman by Queen is the closest thing I have to mimicking that beautiful bone:

I just love the look of that weathered smooth yellow bone.

Elliot, I have one of those MM's also and love it. The Schliepper is not bone. I don't know if it is cell or Delrin or something else, but it is nice.

You know, I wondered about that but I thought that with that (apparent) translucence that it probably was. In any case, it's a wonderful knife.

Thanks, Steve.

Truth be told, the sheepfoot blade is very, very thin (probably so the blades could all be fit with minimal rub). That said, it does allow for a razor like edge.

Also, fwiw, though it's a beauty in my eyes as well, it has the poorest action of any of my five Moore Maker's. It's still a definite keeper, just could be smoother and less gritty feeling (even after my ministrations).
So it goes...
