Stockman roundup.. Lets see 'em...

Wait!!! We can do this? I call dibs on your Ruple!!! Anyone who wants to fight me on this...well come on. I'm too poor to ever get one like that! Give the "kid" a chance.

Hell, you still owe me images of yourself using the sodbuster (in the other thread, not here) and haven't even sent me a "friendship request"...I think you may be on the back of the bus, Corey. ;):p

Yeah, I know the one.

If John includes it in his list I'll advise him of your prior standing. :p

:D Much appreciated... Although talking about this even in jest, is really starting to creep me out

Ummm.....all of them :D

:p I wasn't expecting that.

You'll have to fight it out with Mike for his. ;)

Too funny.

I'll need to heal up a little from my Friday night crash first :D Still not moving to swiftly, although the pain meds do work wonders

I usually prefer round bolsters,

but this square one by Bill Ruple really snaps my half-stops!!
Like Elliott, one of the reasons I like it so much is the subtle filework, on the liners ONLY!!
None on the springs.

This old Case Tested 6347 has gone around the clock with me numerous times. A high-miler, now serving someone else well!

I've shown these before, but they fit this thread nicely. All made ca. 1970.
Variations on reddish bone.
Now who exactly DOESN'T love a stockman, I ask you!!

Same basic pattern with different types of finish scales.

Nice stocks guys. Although my tastes now gravitate towards single blade slipjoints, the stockman was and still remains my favorite multiblade.

Some nice stockmen here guys!:thumbup:

That green peach seed is a keeper Charlie!
Let me know if it wants to move south to a warmer climate! :D

Here is my latest stockman.
I bought it for a user and it is logging quite a bit of pocket time and use.
It is missing a piece of bone on the front scale, but it is sure comfortable in the hand. Maybe when I get all the knives for my customers finished I can put some new bone on it.

Too bad the pitting messed up the nice deep blade etch, but I guess if it was in good shape I would look at it instead of using it. As it is with broken bone and blade pitting it makes an excellent user for $15.

A very enjoyable thread with many great examples.

The first knife date from circa 1891-1906. It has the marks of the maker J.S. Holler of Solingen and Adolph Blaich which was a San Francisco based sporting good retailer. The second was made by Jos Rodger & Sons circa 1950s.

Elliott I just ordered that same Eye Brand Stag stockman last Friday. I hope its a good one.

I hope you get a good one too, Corey.

Let us see it when it arrives.

If everyone is going to show off their EB stockmans, then I want to play too.

This one is the larger, 4 1/4" version.

Boker Stockman

These two are a large Cold Steel and a junior Camillus. As you can see they are both sporting black jigged delrin.

Here's the Cold Steel with a Camillus Roughcut stockman. The family resemblance is unmistakeable.

Nice ones Christian. I like the jigged black scales. they probably look better in person.

Extraordinary:thumbup: The definitive Stockman in my book, wonderful knife s-k

The Greenbone Peach-seed from the Waynorth house runs it a close second though:D

All knives very decent in this thread thank you contributors. I need to buy a camera, then learn how to use it:eek::D

This is a BAD thread - bad for my willpower, that is. For at least the last three months I have resisted every urge to acquire another stockman by convincing myself that I had (heretical thought) enough already. As long as they were spread out all over the house, as they usually are, I was able to maintain the self-deception. After looking at this thread, I gathered them all together, and was shocked at what a small group it was. Looks like I need to get busy. ;)
