Stockman Sunday picture show

Schrade 108OT small Stockman. I carried one of these, alternating occasionally with the Uncle Henry version, for a good 18 years (until I eventually lost them both). OH

But I have to say that it has no common point with the old models 😢. I can't understand why they didn't continue to work as well as before 😭
Are you saying the quality is lower than examples from the past?

I have been considering picking one up, but it costs well over my self-imposed “thrifty” price limit, and I don’t want to be disappointed. I’d feel guilty enough spending that much on an unnecessary item.

I already have a Camillus-made Buck 301 stockman, but I‘m not really a fan of either Buck or stainless, and was considering picking up a better example of the pattern.

Hello,
I would say that production quality is highly uneven. Many knives have defects and I thank Dead wood knives to have sent a zero defect knife .
But I think that also the patterns changed. For this I let the specialist talk .To my humble opinion the old patterns had a much better handle-to-blade ratio. On the one on my picture the main blade could have been bigger considering the gap between the handle and the point of the blade .
The handle on the new patterns is also more angular, less round.
