Stockman Sunday picture show

Âchillepattada Âchillepattada I'm interested by your observations but a bit dismayed. The Stockman you show is a 32 pattern correct? I don't know if older models from 40-50 years ago had longer blades : handle ratio nor the 18 pattern either. It's not uncommon in CASE knives, consider the Teardrop pattern, more like a Quill knife. I think you're right about the radiusing of scales, a new 18 in cv I got recently has more 'blocky' feeling handles less rounded, but I feel that pocket carry will tame it a bit.

I maintain CASE makes better thought out smaller or medium Stockman than anything GEC has managed so far, the 66 disappoints me with weak snap and bulky for a medium knife, just my taste of course. GEC makes very good big Stock knives however and the new 34 frame may well provide us with more examples. Also, I still get a buzz from being able to buy a brand new in the box CASE Stockman in various scales, carbon or stainless and be able to put it to work like somebody did half a century ago, without large expense. I fear those times may soon vanish if CASE decides to cut back on lines.

Yes!! Lot to envy there: the Collab I'd like to get and in the bone I want, impressive sized Cat guarding you...fine Turkeys, wonderful big garden and green is a favourite colour  Idyllic.
Thanks Will. I have two Case/Bose knifes and think they’re great. Case does some fine jigging. My Eureka in ebony is also a favorite. I do like the lines on the GEC Eureka better though. Amazing how a small difference can make a big difference in knives. I got lots of turkeys around here. I was volunteering at the shelter and was working with Toby the cat there hoping to get him adopted. He was a very fearful cat. I‘m grateful to have ended up with him and I’m glad he gets on with turkeys.

Hello Will,

Let me be clear ( or try to be ) , I think Case is always a great company. Which saddens me a little is they could have a better quality control and they've lowered the level of finishing, which was previously well up to GEC's level. Buying a Case knife on Internet ( which in France is the easier way) is like playing to the lotterie. It's really a shame.

Here are some pictures of two stockman I have , I guess the 63032 and the 6332 are the same pattern. (aren't they ? )

A Case knife is really cheaper than a GEC knife but I would be very happy the find an intermediate range between the actual one and the T Bose range and that could be a great alternative/complement to GEC.
Aside from this the handle materials offered by Case are as great as in the past 😍
