Here, a hefty Sowbelly Stockman that Bob/ Big Biscuit gave to me shortly before his death together with a fine Bison leather slip and a 1/2 Dollar. He was a very kind presence on the Forum, much missed.

Here is another knife that was sent to me by my mother this week. It is an Uncle Henry 897 from the late 70's. I can remember my maternal grandfather carrying this one, he had a routine of putting it back in the box on his dresser each evening.

I wiped it down, oiled the joints, and honed the edge. Now it's just like it was the last day it was carried in 1985. This knife might be why I follow this thread and have a soft spot for stockmen.

Couple step brothers today. An 881 and a Schrade made Parker Frost. Both as well built as any current production slip joint. The Parker has endured a bit of abuse and long days in a sweaty pocket this summer. Aside from the shield being lost out in the woods somewhere, it has held up nicely.
