Had a break in at the house and my entire collection over the last 20 years were stolen.

This is in the Rancho Cucamonga area of California.

If you see a large influx of Spyderco, Benchmade, Cold Steel, etc. vintage models suddenly show up in the pawn shops in this area or surrounding, please do let me know. I would appreciate any hints.

Be careful out there.

Thank you.

David.

Very sorry to here that. My father will be there in the area a few weeks. I will let him know.

Man, that is a feeling I never want to have.

I can imagine what 20 years of collecting would look like.

Really sorry to hear that...

I will keep my eyes open on eBay, things seem to find their way there as well.

David,
very sorry to hear of this, I HATE THIEVES! I have a small shop in Santa Monica and do some buying & selling.
I will watch for these.

So sorry to read this David, that is absolutely unnerving. File a police report, get an inventory list to them as soon as possible, and start checking craigslist and pawnshops in the area.

Thank you everyone!

The police report has been filed and I'm working on the list, unfortunately because the items in the collection kept changing I have to work mostly from memory.

Learn from my mistake and start documenting everything you have with photo and receipt and detailed record!

So sorry to hear...nothing lower than a thief. Glad no one was hurt.

Hope the police catch them and recover your belongings.

Sorry to hear that.
I am in north orange county. Will check out the pawn shops around here...but it would help if I know what I am looking for.
'large influx of Spyderco, Benchmade, Cold Steel, etc. vintage models' it's a vague description, especially if the thief/thieves are smart enough not to unload it all in one place.

Hope they get caught.

and then he gets caught and says " what it was just knives " . and I bet my bottom dollar is was pill addicted teens

Hopefully, because then they will move these knives in a way that will get them caught...

May I ask the OP to list a few of the rarer knives so that I know what I am looking for?

Thank you JR88FAN!

The listing of 4 knives (cuda maxx, vesuvius, salt, delica) were all part of my collection, while I can't be sure they are mine or not, the seller's location (ontario) is within immediate vicinity of where the crime occured (rancho cucamonga).

I've emailed the deputy who handled my case with this information (in PDF form) and asked to be put into contact with the detective assigned to this case.

Thank you so much!

I bet a million$ that is your stuff.
New seller.
Same state.
Selling them slowly to go under the radar.

Let us know how it goes.....

He will be easy to find, eBay/PayPal will have all of his info.

I didn't notice this at first, but the Vesuvius has '409' stamped into the blade....

Not sure if that's a collectors club # or what, but that should be proof positive on whether that's your's or not.

Also, if you read the description, this guy is not a knife guy. He has no idea what he's selling, and it looks like he's only posting up the knives he can figure out the vaguest of descriptions for....

He didn't buy these for sure....

Awesome lead, those photos are also horrible. Someone selling knives of that caliber should have MUCH better photos.
