Stolen collection in Rancho Cucamonga

Awesome lead, those photos are also horrible. Someone selling knives of that caliber should have MUCH better photos.

+1 and read the descriptions.....

This HAS to be the guy.

I am just waiting for an update from the OP.
I want this thief to spend many nights in the warm arms of 'Bubba'......

Looks like, I'll definitely be checking the local pawn shops for some good deals on knives this weekend! :D

Just kidding, just kidding.

I bet a million$ that is your stuff.
New seller.
Same state.
Selling them slowly to go under the radar.

Let us know how it goes.....

He will be easy to find, eBay/PayPal will have all of his info.

Same city actually.

Ontario is literally right next door to Rancho. He also listed two other knives that aren't on the stolen list though. It makes it a bit more strange, but the fact that his descriptions make him sound like an illiterate to knives makes me think that it could definitely be the thief.

There is definitely a very high chance that this could be our guy here.

The OP's list is not complete....

He just started on eBay, listed these knives today, lives in the same area, knows zero about the knives he is selling except what's written on the blade, has no clue about value....

It all adds up.

Does seem like over simple descriptions for these knives......but who knows. Hopefully the detective will get the sellers info from eBay and go and make a visit to clear it up one way or the other. A little early to say but nice catch Jr.

Wait a minute! I just read the OP's comment right now.

he listing of 4 knives (cuda maxx, vesuvius, salt, delica) were all part of my collection, while I can't be sure they are mine or not, the seller's location (ontario) is within immediate vicinity of where the crime occured (rancho cucamonga).

This seals the deal for me. The guy on ebay is the thief, absolutely no questions or doubts about it! I hope the police make themselves useful for once and actually try to catch this criminal. The evidence is all clear. This is the thief, no matter what. One coincidence may just be a mere coincidence. More than one, is nothing but evidence of a sinister plan.

Nope, right now is the perfect time to say it. The guy on ebay IS the perpetrator.

Well done on that catch JR88! Now let's all hope the police do what they're supposed to do and make the catch of their own!

Send the seller a message that you are looking to buy large collections of spyderco knives, and willing to pay $$$, then tell him you live close to ontario and can inspect the collection in person, then bring lots of friends to the meet up...

Try contacting Ebay as well! Good luck! Nail this asshole!!!

eBay would screw this up!

Best thing to do is what the OP is doing. Contact law enforcement, and let them contact eBay, get the theifs info, and since this is all local, they SHOULD be able to deal with it quickly.

I believe all this would be a felony, so I hope they are doing their work.

That would be what I think we would all like to do, but it's not worth it, believe me.

+ it could scare this guy. You want to catch him in the middle of this.

David, please keep us updated. It is horrifying to hear of your story and that eBay lead looks good. I am keeping an eye out in hopes you get some of your collection back! Best wishes.

Have you heard anything from the OP?

I really want this to work, these things rarely do....

Heard nothing yet - I do not know the op, but saw this story and really feel for him, I had a friend almost lose his collection a year or so back - police found the stuff at an area pawn shop. This is one of those things that is a threat to collectors everywhere.. especially losing special pieces and such. It's one of those things I think that is in the back of all our minds at some point. Keep us updated, OP.

By the way, I truly hope no one on here is messaging this guy via eBay and trying to scare him. This is such a solid lead and the police need time to collect info about him before he closes his account and skips town or whatever.

Awesome! Man I hope the good guy wins this time! Too often do thieves get away clean after burglarizing somebodies home. A few years ago the house I was living in got broken into to. The thieves actually broke in, opened the garage, and pulled a truck into the garage (closing it so nobody would see) and proceeded to steel almost everything in the house. Some big things I lost included a laptop, Wasr-10, and my acoustic guitar. They stole everything from my roommate, including many of his clothes, and his military equipment/uniforms (he was an Iraqi vet). He was a good guy, I'm sad to say that he is no longer alive today.

+1

Let the OP deal with this....
Although the price he has the Vesuvius at is sooo tempting....

JK!!

That Camillus Cuda Maxx is a very rare blade indeed, and it does appear that this person on eBay may just be the culprit. I hope this gets resolved, I hate thieves with a passion.

I've sent this information on ebay with screen caps to the case detective last week when it was found, although I have not heard back yet. Feel I'm out of options at this point, any suggestions? I don't want to make any pre-mature moves.
