While I do not condone the behavior of the thieves I absolutely despise the attitude this forums members have towards them. The thief did do something wrong obviously but that doesn't make him/her evil. He must have gone through a hard life, probably as hard or harder than you guys'. Did you ever stop to consider why the thief resorted to this illegal method of obtaining the knives? Did you think that what he turned out to be today is because of himself. I can write it down sworn on my life, that he is a product of the environment and the society and not his own choice, for the most part. Noone wants to be born to poor family and have to work/steal their way up. DO NOT PRETEND you did not get the security of a loving family/person and had a harder life. Basically just dont jump to judge people. I hope the thief gets away and gets extremely lucky and makes more money than all of you combined.

Okay, my feelings say you are the thief.

Ok Ankit255...Let's play point/counterpoint. I don't care who you are or how you grew up, stealing something that was made for a charity auction is very low and I certainly hope the person is caught and punished to the furthest extent of the law. This guy/gal didn't steal food to feed his family. There is nothing righteous or justified with this. Based on the facts here (Knives made to raise money for charity were stolen), you couldn't be more wrong in your assessment and I truly hope that steelymonster isn't right. That would not only make the thief a scum bag but also incredibly stupid...

I figured I would make a post in case anyone on the forums might have missed the bad news...

According to ZT's Facebook page, the 3 knives pictured below, that were to be auctioned off, were stolen from their booth at Shot Show.

I was actually at the show and spoke with the lady behind the counter about those three knives... I can't believe someone stole them, it's ridiculous...
Jus saw this thread, did not go trough all the pages but wanted to post the two pictures I made there with her permission,
I hope this would help a little bit, picture is taken on 1/16/14 around 3PM :

Wow just wow. You don't condone this type of behavior yet you are trying to justify what happened? Troll or not, this is ridiculous.

Notice you said "thieves"... So are you saying more than one person was involved?

hey ankit255 pm I'LL TAKE THEM:p:glee::glee: j/k
As for your bs excuse for theft or pity for them, f... you , you know why?, because if it happen to you you would not be talking that crap.

Wow you guys are being really rude to ankit. Stealing is bad but didn't you learn manners? It wasn't him who stole them he's just trying to be empathetic and figure out why some one might steal these knives, I don't think his example was a good one or would justify stealing these knives which were for charity but don't disrespect him for trying to look at both sides of the coin...

You are wrong.

Anyone who makes their first post here in defence of a thief who steals knives earmarked for charity, is either the thief, a moron, or a troll. Possibly all three.

Rude???? nothing wrong with looking at the bigger picture but insinuating that theft is justifiable because A and B is bs , liked I said if it happen to you(anybody) you would not liked it, coming home and your possessions are gone or someone took your knives or your children , get what I'm saying gkeenang, one should be responsible for his/her own post.

Honestly there is no excuse for stealing. I have had some serious lows in my life. I have done things no one should be proud of. My ONLY reprieve in all of my failures is that I never stole to support my bad choices. I can understand ankit255 looking to the thiefs possibly troubled past as a way of understanding "why" the person did what they did. It is entirely possible that the person had less than fortunate circumstances that led them to their own poor choices. But let us never confuse "understanding" why someone did something with "excusing" why someone does something. I dont care what happened to this person in their past it never makes stealing much less from a charity OK. One thing that always rubs me the wrong way is when I hear people who have had a similar past as mine say, "Oh, I did it because of the drugs, it wasnt really me, this or that made me do what I did" BS. Own your mistakes. Admit them, learn from them but dont make excuses. No amount of bad things happening to someone can absolve them from doing their own wrong. It can be a conributing factor in ones decision making process but there is the key word here, "choice". This person "chose" to take what didnt belong to them. I dont care if daddy didnt say "I love you" or mommy was at the bar while you were in the crib, you still had a choice.

Sometimes people just write themselves & each other into a frenzy. Don't know about the true nature of ankit's post, and gkeenang seems to want to allow differing opinions into the discussion. Regardless, there's far too little compassion in our world. Which also goes to the theft of three knives meant to help a charity. Just spread the word about these knives -- ZT/Kai will no doubt be watching eBay & Amazon, so if they're going to be sold it will likely be somewhere with less than a national profile.
Presuming this was in fact a theft & not just a misplacement of the knives, there's also a good chance it was done by someone driven more by the impulse than the profit -- meaning they may never sell them, whether due to collecting trophies or covering up their actions. Still, it's worth keeping an eye out.

Geez... I don't like getting political, but my opinion is there is NO excuse for stealing, making any is just making an excuse for choosing to be a bum... no matter what the circumstances, ANYONE can make the choice to go one way or the other. Not really relevant, but I would doubt the knives were stolen by some 'poor soul', but rather by someone with no morals who saw an opportunity. One of the major reasons I own weapons is to protect myself from anyone who would choose to try to take from me that which I have WORKED MY F*ING ASS OFF to get. That is all I will say on the subject (wishing I hadn't decided to look at the newer posts in this thread, because it just P'd me off...)

I don't know, maybe there are more knifes of the same auction models, I only took the picture after I spoke with the lady there...

The thief may have a hard life but that's no excuse. He new it was wrong. I went hungry win I was young and sometimes we only ate if we killed something to eat. I killed a lot of animals out of season and went on property I was not aloud to go on but I never took a man s livestock because that's how he feed his family. A man works and gets things by sweating and than a lowlife to sorry to have respect for himself or anybody else comes and takes it. He should be punished if you cut off some hands there would be less thiefs period. Sorry I feel that way. But if you have ever come home and found everything gone beds tables, chairs, you will feel the same way

You can't defend a person like that, how much does a ticket to get into the show cost for a day, he had money, if I was poor I could think of something better to spend however much it cost to get in instead of on a ticket...

If you unscramble his name (ankit255) it is "takin255" 255 comes from the first number in each knife after the zero. Conspiracy??? I am just messing around. But I did find it funny. Sorry to hear what happened though.

Whoa...
What the hell happened here? We have a CSI:BF starting up here?
And I vote CRX95 be LL Cool J.

But what I want to know is how. You'd have to move pretty fast to swipe those and get out of there unseen, and the knives were open. I'm picturing a dude grabbing all three and either slicing up his hands in the process or sticking them in his pocket and stabbing himself at least once. Someone should do a sweep for DNA.

I would say: they were stolen not during exhibition hours... They were so many people around and it was always somebody by the knives. I passed by few times and there was that lady always by the display... I don't think there was a possibility for someone to snatch all three of them at the same time, without not being noticed by someone by the display or waiting to see and touch those particular knives...
