Stoned Ivory

Its a dandy alright , beautifully done Don. But if I had to pick one, that fighter with the unique white and black ivory you made a while back is still my favorite.

I'll climb way out on that skinny limb and say this one is my all time favorite of yours. You'll have to go some to beat that one, Don.

Because of what I do, and the knives I get to see (much like Coop) it is taking more and more to truly impress me that a piece is really outstanding. This one is.

A really handsome knife, Don. Love the copper spacers and the artifact handle. The overall shape of this piece works so well. As always, am a hamon freak so the blade speaks to me.

Coop, great job showing the details and the flowing lines. Looks like it would be a challenging knife to photograph.

Joe M, if only I had a picture :D
There are a few out there...but this is the Customs forum. :)

This one, to me, just screams fighter, but I could also see it at a high soctety NY Art show.
Great work, as per usual,Don and the ancient ivory is something absolutely else. Would love to know it's history.
Not my absolute favorite DHIII but WAY up there and good to see Coop was chosen to shoot it.

talent.Great flow and curves, thanks for sharing.

I can't say it's my favorite but that's only because I can't choose between a lot of your other knives. This is a beautiful knife for sure:thumbup::cool:

Hi guys,

I read Don's initial email about capturing the 'stones' in the handle, and I wondered why he was now encrusting jewels in his work. Buster must have had an influence, I thought...

Then, I unpackaged THIS piece!

I want to show it again, with an explanation: I gave Don a set of files with the wrong color profile. These photos show it as I edited it and it is as it looks in real life:

A little darker and a lot less color vibrant, but this is the true look. It's majestic.

As a cleanliness freak, I wanted to pick those little balls out of there. Nahhh.

Nicely done, Don. This was a privilege to shoot. (Yes, this was hard. I deleted over 60 images to settle on these four.)

Paul, I understand completely. Often knives come and go with such regularity, we HAVE to treat them as a commodity to move along. Now and then I get bowled over, though. :D Just like you.

I was sorta hoping this was getting the Paul Long Tour de Force!

Coop, I like the first images fine BUT the edited versions are over the top! And true to color. Sorry if I was too quick to post. Thanks!!!

a graceful beauty with just enough intricacy so that its not too busy.some makers knives are so busy ,look like psycotic art.hamon reminds me of some old patterns in book Japanese Sword Markings.

Beautiful piece in every way Don!!!

Fantastic image Coop!!! (you really need to put out some pigs' ears so we don't just EXPECT crazy amazing images ;) ).

Beautiful piece and an excellent example of building a blade to compliment the handle.
