Stormy Weather

I don't normally enjoy file work directly on the spine, but that is very tastefully and well done!

the blade, prior to heat treatment;

This knife uses 6mm RWL34 for the blade.
Wait til you see the handle!

Here are some Axelson knives which contributed to the inspirations behind this knife.

Very cool, Lorien. Keep milkin' this baby for all it's worth! Knowing Magnus' work, I can tell from the sketch that this is going to be another magnificent piece.

From Magnus;
"
At the moment the blade has a 1000 grit "machine" finish on the hollow grind, and a 800 grit handrubbed satin finish on the rest of it."

what wood you choose?

It's moving along now.
Lorien, is there a prize for who can correctly guess the handle material you chose ;) :)

I love it. Magnus is just off the hook. His work is so clean and out of the box it is impossible to categorize.

I'm going to guess the middle block too.:p

This is such a cool project. I love looking at these progress shots.

I agree, that birch burl is rather nice.
And how about copper for the fittings?
