Strider Knives - Horrible customer service so who cares about the lifetime warranty?

Looking over my post, not my most helpful.

There is a way to get stellar service from Strider Inc. I feel bad for those that haven't.

My apologies for my sarcastic, uninformative post.

For future reference, include a check for $15, ship via FedEx or UPS, include address, phone number, email , and what is wrong with the knife in the box. Send one email once the knife arrives asking to confirm they've received it. Then kick back and wait, it will take awhile, but you will be taken care of.
The customer has to pay shipping both ways? LOL wow

Makes sense I think. I have sent in a knife that was destroyed beyond being usable. It was my fault as I dropped it onto a rock from really high up. I sent it in and they sent it back and it looked completely new. Not bad for $15. It would likely have been $400 down the drain with most other companies.

Most companies don't charge $400+ for knives or make the customer pay for return shipping. Also most companies don't let knives sit at the post office for a month and refuse to pick them up.

And that's all you took from it? Hahaha wowza! $15, lighten up.

All the production companies I know of charge you a minimum of $5-$25 enclosed as a check or Mo with your knife.
Spyderco, Emerson, CRK, Benchmade, Hinderer, Cold Steel, on and on with several custom makers.

Unfortunately for some strider knives does not hold your hand and send all kinds of confirmation emails that they received the knife etc. They have a very small staff and just don't feel it necessary to have to baby you. What you can be a. ssured of is if you send your knife in for warranty work no matter what the reason they will fix it and have it back to you in a reasonable time frame. Which imo is what counts the most.

Buck, Kershaw/ ZT, GEC, Queen, Victorinox......

And that's wrong how?? Why would the company have to eat shipping in either direction unless the knife was being sent in due to a production/design defect?? I think you're overlooking Strider will sharpen, tweek and tune your knife for free or very little charge. If you choose to address their lack of motivation regarding the post office, you might have a minor point to make, but the payment for shipping angle is not a winner.

I wouldn't pay $400.00 + for a knife(not that I have that kind of disposable income to spend) that has a rough and tumble finish, may or may not be properly sharpened(meaning field usable) and Lockbar that may need readjustment before you even use it for the first time. That's just plain unexcusable. People can say that is part of the mystique of"owning a Strider". I say that for that kind of dough you deserve a lot better fit and finish and maybe a return label included with your knife(in the case of a Strider anyway) just in case. I won't buy a Strider, I used to want one but not anymore.

It is unfortunate that you feel that way. Out of the many I've owned, fit and finish have been great. No lockbar tweaking needed. Sharp as they arrived to me. No issues that made me regret acquiring them, at all.

No mystique needed. Those that hold onto second hand information and decade old bad blood are really missing out on an excellent knife.

"strider", not his real name, is a felon, liar, thief, fraud, guilty of Stolen Valor, and all around someone I don't want to send money to under any condition. As a retired Soldier who EARNED what I have I greatly resent men like "strider". He would not be where he is today if he hadn't lied about being an "operator" the net ninjas of the world would never have bought into his crap and he would be NOTHING now except that he built his business on the blood and sweat of those who did the real deal.

I would rather go back into the box with a KFC spork than anything that man ever put his name onto.

If I am wrong about any of my "second hand information" please give detailed proof of where I went wrong.

My post wasn't an argument. It wasn't about winning. It's my opinion that a company should pay return shipping in many cases and the companies I listed are among those that do pay return shipping. They also don't cry about the post office. Almost every knife company will sharpen a knife for free so that isn't unique to mick burger knives.

Well right out the gate your wrong about what I meant about second hand information. If you quote something from my post atleast stop a second, take a breath, and get it right.

I'm referring to lock rock blade play crappy edges etc. that people grab onto like the last flotation device on a falling jet liner. 10 Striders and counting, NONE OF THESE ISSUES! Maybe I should just get a lotto ticket as I must be the ONLY dude not to have an issue with his Striders.

I'm aware of the military crap. I won't touch that with a pole, but I will say stop acting like he diddled kids in a park or murdered an old lady in her sleep. Everybody does stupid stuff in their lives and it's downright childish to keep dragging that dead horse out of the trunk and beating the crap out of it with a holier than tho attitude.

Got anything recent about his lies and corruption? Anything at all RECENT?

Bet ya my fun bits you come up with NOTHING.

Let it go. Wasn't 9/11, wasn't Vietnam, wasn't Watergate. There's enough real crap in the world to get upset about and this is pretty low down on the list.

But the check that 90-something percent of manufacturers ask you to send in is to cover your return shipping. You waste more money on the labor of prepping a knife for a resharpening than the few bucks you send enclosed though.

That says it all. Aside from diminishing it as "military crap" the fact that you won't touch it answers it all, you know it's indefensible. You didn't bother to mention his felony conviction as a thief so I guess that didn't happen.

If he hadn't lied about the military connection and built his business on it I wouldn't have an issue with him. He made mistakes and did his time; fine, he could go on to make knives and I would be fine with that, I might have bought some. However, he opted to continue to STEAL from those of us who did the do.

No, I won't let it go anymore than most Vietnam era guys will let jane fonda go. Maybe they should also let her off though since it doesn't fit into your view of the world.

Many people still buy strider stuff since they think he and his lieing buddy went there and did it. They STILL make money on their theft, so no, I won't let it go. MAYBE, the day they post a banner on their page to clear it all up I will reconsider, till then, no.

You like his stuff and support a felon, liar, thief and fraud, good for you. I opt not to.

C'mon guys, give ol' Mick a break. He has apologized and expressed deep remorse for sticking a gun in the face of a man to jack his car and lying about secret squirrel ops to ride to financial success on the backs of real heroes. What? He hasn't? oh. nevermind.

I bought mine after I knew they were liars.
I bought it because I like the knife.
I don't care if someone was in the army, navy, or flips burgers...that has zero impact on how I view a knife.
If they had been "high-speed operators", so what? Why would that make them able to design a decent knife?
Answer is it wouldn't.

But for those who care, that's cool. It's your right to care, and to decide what to spend cash on.
Freedom and all that jazz.

If you had bad CS drop them and move on, as I have. I had great service from Knives of Alaska, Queen Cutlery, Case, and Steve Hostetler. I figure they deserve mentioning.

It's not about the knife. It's about who's pocket my hard earned dollars end up in.
