Am I the only one who isn't too amazed at Strider's folder design?

I think It's pretty darn ugly, as a matter of fact.
Oh well, Can't like em' all.

I am with ya. I am not the biggest fan of the design of them. They do function though, and are built like tanks.

Can't say I have ever appreciated the look of the strider but I would like to handle one at some point to see if I would like it. I never thought I would like my ZT knife till I grabbed one and now it's in my pocket everyday.

To each their own.... I happen to love their sng cc's. The only thing I don't like about their knives is that they come looking "used" when you buy it brand new. I don't think they have such a thing as quality control, just throw it together and send it out! Still love them though.

Have you tried their new stuff? Their quality rivals any other mid tech maker now. Yes, it's that good. They have really stepped their game up.

Yep, exactly what I was going to say.

I didn't like the look at first but I really think they're pretty cool knives now. I like mine quite a bit.

Yea, Strider just took the folding knife to a new level. Ugly is in the eye...

i dont find them interesting or impressive at all either. tried one out and thought it was pretty blah. sold it quickly while the getting was good. the new baby huey or whatever its called is even less thrilling. im sure it cuts decent enough but i can do much better for less money.

I just got a supposedly brand new sng cc last week, and the blade was not centered, there were a bunch of nicks and scratches on the blade, and tooling marks on the pivot. I didn't mind since it was going to be carried and used but just making a point that their knives never seem to come "perfect". The knife functions 100% fine, just doesn't seem he cares much about aesthetics.

That's strange. I've bought 5 new Striders recently and literally every single one of them is perfect in every way. Wonder if that one was a fluke, or maybe it wasn't brand new like it was listed? Either way, don't judge them by that one knife. They really are doing good things. :)

I love my SNG. It has perfect fit and finish and is smooth as my Sebenza. I like the fact that they are ugly, it helps a person justify the fact that they bought this knife to be a user and you will use it. There are down sides to them though. I can't get away from the palm rubbing the top corner of the Ti side and there are a few more hot spots in the design. But in the end I am happy with it and I think it is a great knife. It will however, never knock the Sebenza out of my pocket.

^ Try a Strider CC or the GG versions. The Concealed Carry design is all smoothed out.

The new Striders are definitely better in the fit and finish department. I don't think they took te folde to a whole new level though. I just really don't see them being tougher than many other knives. I really liked my SnG though.

But for considerably MORE money, right? I am not a big folder guy, but I was under the impression that the large Sebenza was kind of the long time benchmark for premium mid-tech folders. The Strider SMF appears to trade for about $165 more.

The Strider folder design and the Strider warranty are worth the cost. Trust me.
Strider knives come as they are and Strider will tell you that.

On the contrary I find the knives are great looking but I couldn't get used to the ergos. That massive choil to my mind is a total waste of space. A 3 inch cutting edge in a 9 inch knife? Something wrong there...

Ive never wanted to give Strider a dime simply because they have a reputation for being criminals, who claimed they were war heroes so they could sell more knives.
The fact that they no longer sell knives with serious lock-up issues is great, but the bad outweighs the good with Strider IMO.

The design is cool but I couldn't get used to the ergos, didn't ever feel goo in my hand at all. I don't think strider will ever get to CRK level fit and finish, but strider guys don't care about that.

I've had a BUNCH of Strider folders. They are what they are. Strider is not CRK & vise versa... but IMO that is a good thing! Honestly I like them equally for different reasons.
