Strider Knives

I love this one!.. I will own one someday

I own five Striders and love them all! Not a single flaw with any of them. I think they are great in the hand! Very comfy with or without gloves. The larger folders are great for law enforcement and military! They are on the pricey side but hey if u want one, pay up!
 
At first I hated the design, but over the years, I have come to find it pretty attractive. If it wasn't for the past fraud issues, I would totally save up for one.

I totally understand where you're coming from (truly) and was very disappointed reading some of that info that's out there yet we buy items all the time...cars, watches, TV's and other items for our homes and what do we know about the owner of those companies? I'm not at all trying to justify anything, its just a thought...

I don't own any Striders but I've been looking at an SMF for a couple weeks now trying to decide if I'd like it enough to justify the price when compared to my ZT 0300 or 0560...tough call as I really like the overall look and I think I would enjoy owning and using it yet I could buy 2 ZT's for the price of the one SMF. Decisions...decisions.

Another well know maker recently came out on where he stands politically but at least one knows where he stands. I have learned to focus on the KNIFE, not the polytics.

And has said knifemaker used his politics as a sales tool.? ;) But seriously, I have a question about the "toughness" of the Strider folders. How can they be the toughest of the tough when the only have a full thickness titanium handle slab on one side and that just happens to be the side that is arguably weakened by being cut up to make the lock bar?;)
 
I have an SMF and and SNG, both in CC. I like them them both. The smf is probably one of my most EDCed knives.
 
The only thing I don't like about my SMF is that it won't fit in any of my sheaths. Maybe I can carry it in a cellphone case.
 
Sometimes I don't know why people call it politics in this case. To me, politics would be not buying the knife because of who they vote for or what political campaign they donate too. Its more a matter of morals, and what comes dangerously close to criminal activity. I might be a bit biased because I am in the military, so the lies hit home more so than for others. They might make nice knives, but not so nice that they overcome the fact that other companies I buy from have not been publicly exposed for borderline criminal activity. If I found out that the head of a knife company had molested children but gotten out of it on a technicality, (and no I do not consider what he did to be as bad as that, but its bad enough for me to not spend the money) it wouldn't matter how good their knives are, I wouldn't buy from them. Nothing political about it, he could donate 50% of his profits to my favorite political party and I wouldn't care.

Of course in this case, its my decision, and I don't think any of you are bad people for liking his knives. Its not like they were made in China or something treasonous like that. ;)

Politics is a term used in MANY different ways, not solely to describe the art of government affairs.

I have no experience with any Striders, but I think they look pretty cool. I'd like to get my hands on the Strider PT! Not a big fan of the camo on the blades (understand that it's military orientated), though. Just prefer a more clean look. I really like the angles on the Strider folders, very smexy. From what I've read, I believe their warranty is pretty sweet, too.

RC/RCC series

They have a good enough selection for me.

I like them, and like the ergos. I say that strider has the best heat treatment of any knife company.

There is no accounting for taste. There are plenty of very popular knives I find super ugly and would never buy. Like the Spyderco Gale Bradley and the Kershaw Tilt and ZT 0888. Can't hate on a guy for what he likes.
 
I've always wanted to hold a strider, since everyone says it's comfortable, but that straight line just doesn't look so comfy to me. One thing I don't like is how they waste so much blade space. I'd rather lose the choil and the sharpening notch, and replace those with blade. I don't think I'm ever going to own one though, due to the owner's history.
 
They are comfortable for everyone. I sold my SnG because I couldn't get used to the ergos. Didnt feel right in my hand.
