$25 for return shipping!!!? No insurance or express delivery included?

Thanks for the heads up. I will never buy anything from Strider ever again. I hate companies that do this kind of crap. It proves to me that they have no integrity or interest in standing behind their product.

$25 for shipping? LOL I've shipped internationally for less. Yet another reason to avoid Mickey Burger's knives.

What a rabbit-hole. Why would anyone buy from such a company? And to hear their knives aren't all they're cracked up to be...why oh why...

I tried contacting Strider for info on repair and alteration to am smf. Sent three emails, called twice. Never heard anything back. Finally gave up. I posted a comment on USN about how a warranty is only as good as the service behind it- that I like Strider knives but am turned off by the quality of the customer service....and promptly received all sorts of hate mail and an infraction...The knives are easy to like and the company, easy to hate.

IMO there is no other knife like the SnG. It is really unlikely that a Strider with some "lock rock" will close on you accidentally. I have several Strider folders and several other knives with higher fit and finish. For better or worse my SnGs are my favorite folders. One has rock lock and one does not. I think $25 is seriously over the top BUT I don't see anywhere in their info that the knives should have perfect F&F. They are certainly expensive for what you get but personally I like what I get with the knives. I believe, Say, Spyderco, could make the identical knife in Golden for $250 MSRP but they just don't. I love my Sebenzas for what they are too and they are arguably a better made knife. The overall design of the SnG does it for me and I currently accept any and all downfalls as they are moot in comparison with what they bring to the table... at least for a working man like me who carries and uses his knives. The form and function are spot on.

And away we go... right into hatetown.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Exactly.

And charging $25 to return a knife that failed under warranty is ridiculas.
They should send it back at no charge, or at least not make a profit on fixing a problem that was covered by warranty. A company shouldn't have as many warranty problems as they do, but if they do the company should take care of the problem without making a profit from it. Sending it back is enough hastle for the customer, and the $25 shouldn't be added to that hastle.

You shouldn't have to make excuses as to why something is awesome DESPITE all of it's flaws.. And if the knife was $40 I wouldn't have issue with the bad lockups but at this price point it's unacceptable. Why do you think they finally started doing the lock face correctly after so many years of defending the sharp radius one that causes lock rock?

Hmmmm I have a feedback thread on another forum that has to do with one of the owners of SKI and I didn't get hate mail or any infractions........ It's all about how you present your case ymmv

Presumably it was about Duane, who having now fell out of favor with Mick, is fair game. If it was about Mick, regardless of how you worded it, it would have ended poorly. "Walking on egg shells" doesn't even begin to describe the caution one must take when posting anything that could be considered negative in the Strider forum over there. When I posted asking for contact info, I had to put at least three kiss ass statements in it just to make sure I got the information I needed and wasn't chased out with torches and pitchforks.

Not a hater, just being realistic. I've loved 4 of the 5 SnG's I've owned. Still have four of them.

I have not even thought about getting another Strider sense I got a ZT 0550.

Sad that you had to even do such a thing. I won't say more on the subject since it would more than likely violate several rules here and I may end up giving myself several infractions for it.

This sucks. I have always wanted a Strider as my "grail" folder. I have also always heard about quality issues with them. If the warranty issues are this bad I might have to find something else...... But I really want a Strider in 3V or PD-1 :(

That about sums up my experience there as I related above. They have great skill at turning any shortcomings with the company, the product, the customer service, etc., into shortcomings with the customer- you had problems contacting us? We're busy and your an impatient pussy who didn't try hard enough. You're complaining that our knives don't have perfect fit and finish? Our knives are for bad asses that don't care about looks and you're a pussy for even mentioning it. You are complaining about the $25 fee to cover the handling and return of your knife? You are a cheap bastard who doesn't appreciate how busy we are with more important things. Oh, and you're a pussy for complaining so go buy some other guy's knife....
