Strider Lifetime No BS Warranty

Chris Reeve charges for refurb and repairs...why are you not complaining about him ?

Because you don't have to send CRKs in for lock rock. When new or old. That I've heard of, I'm sure it's possible. I've sent a lot of Striders in for service but never a CRK. Percentage wize do you think the CRK Warranty returns are anywhere NEAR Striders? Apples and Oranges.

ps. AND CRK isn't telling you to abuse his knives

I don't see where the new lockup on Striders would develop lock rock any more so than the other TI frame locks out there. The old lock up, yes it wears and hits the "ramp" it's gonna have play, the new lock up is pretty much the same as far as I can see, as the rest of my ti frame lockers.

I would agree. The SnG with lock rock that started all this has the old lockup, I only have 1 Strider with the new/improved lockup and I like it.

My SMF is very tight and feels incredibly solid. Had a bit of lock stick at first, but a bit of pencil lead cured it in short order. I really like the two piece handle, too.

My point to the thread was $15 for shipping/handling on a knife with a No BS Lifetime Warranty is one thing, charging me $25 to ship a SnG that due to it's design has issues then maybe you could just charge me the real price of shipping to repair it. If that, I already paid a lot for a knife that shouldn't have had this issue in the first place. Making money on your Warranty Service is ridiculous.

Only thing you can do about it is to sell your Striders and not buy anymore. I've refused to order before from companies that I feel rip me off on shipping & "handling". The handling part is what gets me, of course they have to handle the thing if you buy it.

I also would like to point out, and I say this as someone who is friendly enough with the Strider crew that I can text Josh anytime and speak with Duane at every show I see him at; I have had an ABSOLUTELY AWFUL experience with their warranty department. I sent a knife with MINOR lock rock in that took me 7 months to get back. I would honestly sell a problematic Strider at a massive hit and buy another one before I would send one back into them.

This speaks volumes about their warranty service coming from a person that knows the owners and loves the knives.
This thread is about the warranty service, and not the knives.

Also, This thread isn't for complaining about CRK. Someone asked why no one had. If someone wants to complain about them it would be best if they started a separate thread for that.

Also, to correct misinformation in this thread...CRK doesn't charge for warranty repair, and they reblast the scales for free.
The only one of mine that developed a bit of stickiness was fixed at no charge, and came back looking as new.
I think it was $14 for them to ship back.

At one time i owned 54 sebenzas and they are certainly not perfect ....i spent my share and repaired many my self just as i have with striders.

As i mentioned in another thread , i sent two customs to the maker for lock issues and i was charged 100.00 and they still stuck...many consider this guy the "king of flippers".

I had another 1300.00 custom by one of the most highly regarded companys...lock stuck so bad i used a screwdriver to get it unlocked...got it back in a week with the same problem (no charge)...i would have gladly paid 25 bucks if it worked.

Good thread though, you couldn't have picked a better target. :)

I copied this directly from CR's site. "Return handle to original finish (not offered on inlaid knives) $30 ".

Well, if we must talk about CRK.
That isn't correct for a plain model. They've been reblasting handles every time you send one back(free) for a few years now.
Maybe they never took that down, or they could be talking about the anodized UG handles.
Also, they do reblast the Micarta inlaid handles. They just can't reblast the wood inlays.

Rob k once posted on Ron's forum that in his time with Strider that nobody ever yelled at him like i did when we met....we became good though.

Trust me, i kmow how it sucks having an issue...usually lock issued on a framelock are a simple bar tweak away from good.

What i hate to see is this early lock up crap.

edit- nevermind. I knew the answer. No need for me to ask.

Simmer down, I said the new lock faces are amazing and I would choose not to own an old. My opinion. Never said anything negative, just that I would sell it. I am being rational and I do love me a strider when I can afford one someday again. No wrong on rite here, just discussing warranty and choices.
Matt

I have many of the old style and they are fine....you speak like they are junk and that is not correct.

+1

I LOVE the design of the knives themselves. In my opinion the SNG/SMF/PT design is one of the coolest knife designs ever made. I pray for Strider to get their **** together though.

Why ? Just to throw this one off track I guess.

Start all of the threads you want to about those. This isn't the thread for it.

This thread isn't about knives anyway. Its about Strider Warranty service. Not the knives, or anyone elses.

My point with that comment was that nobody is perfect and anyone can charge what they want for shipping or repair. :)

Oilman, how long have you owned the knife brother? If its fairly new they should cover shipping to repair a B/O knife. If the knife is years old and has been used there is no reason for the maker to pay the return. They are paying a tech to repair it and it is a business. Sorry if you already stated the age. I wish you luck on the knife sir.

I recently purchased a MSC SJ75 and Josh Lee was a gentleman the entire deal and has been in all my dealings with him. It may take awhile to get a response, but he has responded on the weekend and late hours.

That is just personal preference and a peeve of mine. I look for early lock up myself as I just like it better.

Your the biggest loser on BF...lmfao
Start another thread crying like the little b**ch that you are and see
if you can get others to talk sh*t about me.
If thats what it takes to make you feel like someone.

I did the ** edit on the two words.
As I told you before when you sent me the PM's a while back. This is not normal behavior. Stop doing this.
I have no idea why you do this, but I hope you're not doing it to all that post in a Strider thread.
And I don't even know what you mean by "start another thread". I wasn't the one that started the one about you in W&C.
