Summer snark !

Made a quaich out of stainless sheet metal
5" diameter, 1.5" deep, blackened inside with beeswax in case it's a 300 series nickel bearing steel. pictured with the 2 from this spring for scale - this one holds up to 8 oz. The smaller one on the right holds 2 - and weighs a chunk more

.

That's shaping up to be a nice suit of armor, but I think the breastplate is gonna need to be bigger.

Not been feeling too good lately. Also, feeling a bit "crunchy", as my wife calls it. Kinda like you feel in the morning after you've been up all night, like you're not really there.

Yep weather changes can hurt . I had a cortisone injection directly into my hip joint this morning . 3.5 inch needles are not fun. Thankfully the injection didn’t go in as close to sensitive areas as I was told . Eventually I will need a hip replacement

Tomorrow is my wife’s birthday. Do to everything going on the kids came down today. My wife made a pork and pineapple thing that my wife and daughter love . Since I don’t care for that I dug out some lamb lion chops I bought to try on the grill . My lovely wife has told me 100 times that she doesn’t like lamb , but she decided to taste mine. Her and daughter and foster granddaughter went shopping . My wife ask as she was going out the door if I could get lamb chops from the meat market and cook them tomorrow for her birthday 😣

Computer, ... won't, ... compute. Must, get communicator!
Scotty!! Beam me up Mister!! 😬

Just back from the Geek Squad, this old computer is nearing time to putting out to pasture. Going to need to start shopping for a new one soon. They treated me well at the store though, I spoke with someone who knew street English enough to talk with ME, rather then speaking technese dialect English.
I'm not real big on techno devices, I'ld rather just write letters, and drive a dumb, old truck.

Mother in law is preparing her self to leave this world soon.
She's got cardiac failure and is rapidly getting worse.
In a matter of weeks she changed from an energetic, very active, walking, cycling old lady to sitting in a wheelchair, laying in bed many hours of the day.

Breaks my heart to see this.

Tough times for my girlfriend, her sister and my father in law.
Had to share this somewhere...

She's always made me feel welcome and appreciated in the family. She is a remarkable woman in many ways, like the way she's keeping up in the digital world, her taste in music that still appreciated today's music as much as music from her youth.

We're enjoying the time she's still here as much as we can.

well, that's never any fun - sounds like the progression my dad went.
he was animated, chatty, etc.... on Thursday morning, the following Tuesday they called hospice services, Thursday afternoon I got the call to be there ASAP.
you and the family have all of my empathies through this process - with a little luck, it's just a scare and she'll start recovering quickly.

Sorry to hear this. It's never an easy thing. It is good to spend time with them as they get ready to move on. I had some good conversations and laughs with my parents and I think it let them say things and be more at ease with it all.

My prayers are with your family and I wish you all find strength and peace in a life well lived.

Yes I do!
And I understand shutdown stress. SWMBO has to drive 85 miles and pay for parking in order to have the privilege of working for free for the past 37 days.

Yup, same crappy boat here but dang, I don't have to drive that much! Im guessing Thanksgiving is gonna break the impasse.

only 25miles here, fortunately.
Good news: rough-profiled a bunch of knife blanks this afternoon.

So, just in case anybody wants to ski down little, old, mount Everest, here is the route, (for now)!
