If you were able to pick one of the following knives, which would it be?

1. Gerber LMF II ASEK
2. Ka-Bar Becker BK2
3. Gerber Prodigy

Keep in mind weight and other factors!

Uses for the Knife: Camping, Backpacking, & Surviving

** I understand there are threads already similar to this, however, there is not one that specifically compares only these three knives**

Yeah I think you may be right. I personally love the way the LMF II looks. However, the BK2 seems like it is much stronger and reliable.

I'd go with Becker if only because of my disappointment with Gerber's latest offerings.

In a survival situation where my life might depend on the knife?

BK2 because it's full tang.

I'd go with a Matt Lamey Bowie.

Sure they are more expensive.....but what's a few dollars if it saves your life?

If you had 50 different knives listed, I'd still go with the Becker.

Seems like everyone is leaning towards the Becker Bk2. I have been looking for places to buy one, but it seems like the cheapest place is Tomars Kabars for around $70.00 shipped. Any other suggestions?

even though the blade is longer, 5.5" (bk2) vs 7.0" (bk7), the BK7 is 2.5oz lighter.

out of your 3 choices i would also go with the bk2.
