Survival Lilly knife.

it is quite possible, that some guy or girl, sporting an APO-1, will come to your aid, when you find out that it takes more than just a really, really, really, really, really, really good knife to make it in a post apocalyptic world.
Are you suggesting that our CPK Heavy Duty Field Knives doesnt imbue us with magical fantasy apocalypse survival powers!
:D

By all means, discuss her knife.
That is, in fact, what we do here. We are that very small percentage of people who care. Knowing better can be a burden. I know there are better knives to bet your life on. I know that if Lilly continues to do what I've seen her do to knives, her knife will fail just the same or worse. I know that her internet marketing is BS. And since this is a knife forum where we discuss knives, I have no problem pointing out the previous facts.

That 711 would do you very well and certainly kick the crap out of this Lilly knife :)

Not keen on the APO but now I want a Difensa:mad:

What CPK do you have on the way? Is it the FK2?

Its a beaut. The one I looked at had a different coating IIRC. I want to say tan or coyote...

The CPK Utility-fighter. Its gonna be a while.
I also like the future DEK1 but had to choose one or the other.
The FK2 looks great but I already have the FK, so would have to sell that one in order to buy the FK2. Both are awesome knives and I like them both (not that Ive ever seen a CPK, that I didnt like).
The evolution of the FK is the same as with the EDC; first a more pointy knife and then a FK2/EDC2 with more belly. Just depends on which version suits ones needs the best, I guess*
I might at some point sell my FK and try the FK2 but truth be told, the FK sort of falls in between the EDC and the HDFK. I find that I tend to bring the latter two knives and that they cover most bases. This sometimes leaves the FK at home, which is a pity as its an awesome knife.
Were I to pick one CPK, it would be the HDFK.

* EDIT As a hunter I should prefer the second gens with more belly but I really dont.

Yes, it is tanish. That's another thing about Spartan: the coatings are fantastic. They clean up really well. I'm not a coating fan, but if you have to have one, Spartan does it about the best. And on topic, for this Lilly knife, that AUS8 will rust far more than the Falkniven she tested, especially if she intends pry limpets of the rocks in the surf (stupid to do with your one cutting tool you need to survive the apocalypse with).

I see. If I absolutely had to have a coating, Id choose tan over black but thats just me.
I just removed the coatings on a CS DP. Had I a Difensa, Id most likely remove the coating on that one as well.

Youtubers need sources of income. And dedicated fans. This is all that is. Some offer t shirts some offer gear. That's it.

Lots of people saying this knife isn't worthy of post apocalyptic usage, but not a ton of discussion about what improvements could be made to it. The biggest problem seems to be it's usage of AUS-8, what would you prefer? Some powder metal super steel for which the user will have to find diamond stones amid the rubble of our post-technology dystopia? A simple carbon steel that will rust in the endless acid rains of nuclear winter?

Sure it's expensive for what it is but who cares, people are buying because of the endorsement of a youtube personality, not because it's the best thing since whatever trendy knife came out yesterday.

Lilly offers a shed load of different shirts as well as the knife. I went and checked the price of the knife and noticed that she also offers all kind of T shirts, long sleeved and hoodies.

This may well be the smartest comment on her knife, yet.

Knifeafficianados (spell check? ) need to understand, that a very good knife does not have to be made of the latest and greatest type of steel.

O1 tool steel, for instance is a very nice type of steel. But it is just old and unsophisticated. Tried and tested however.

Thats sad.
Not you but the fact that you are right about this.

I may be wrong but I dont think, thats quite what Napalm concluded.

As for the comment you deleted; O1 is just fine in my book. 'Old and unsophisticated' or not.

The first improvement would be to just buy one of the knives it was copied from for less than it costs.
