Survival Lilly knife.

Lots of people saying this knife isn't worthy of post apocalyptic usage, but not a ton of discussion about what improvements could be made to it. The biggest problem seems to be it's usage of AUS-8, what would you prefer? Some powder metal super steel for which the user will have to find diamond stones amid the rubble of our post-technology dystopia? A simple carbon steel that will rust in the endless acid rains of nuclear winter?

Sure it's expensive for what it is but who cares, people are buying because of the endorsement of a youtube personality, not because it's the best thing since whatever trendy knife came out yesterday.
Yes, I'd like the best steel I can get for the use during my survival in an apocalyptic situation. I don't think that is too much to ask. That steel is not aus8. My survival is important and I don't mind paying much more for something like delta 3v. I've had no problem keeping my hdfk sharp with a ceramic rod and I have no doubt I could keep it sharp for decades on the simple Norton stone I use.

Other improvements besides the steel would be a sheath that seems to dull the knife.

Lilly offers a shed load of different shirts as well as the knife. I went and checked the price of the knife and noticed that she also offers all kind of T shirts, long sleeved and hoodies.
Indeed. She offers lots of things. This is no different than that. More sources of income the better. Often yt is there main job and yt doesn't make as much money for content creation as it once did.

But.... Wouldn't it just suck, if some fellow survivalite, sporting an APO-1, sneaks in your survivalshelter, and steals your ceramic rod? Or your Norton stone.
And leaves you to sharpen your knife with the bottom of your coffee mug?:D

I like survival lily, great content. I do not like the aus 8 steel much like others say here. Aus8 is good for most things but I wouldn't want that as my one and only option in the apocalypse. I could make due if that is what I ended up having on me, but I would prefer to have something much better.

This is not critizing Lily in a negative way, she designed the knife her way and I think its a beautiful knife, well designed. I do not have it but I can say by the looks of it, its still a great knife.

No.

First of all, I have sharks with lasers that guard my survival Mansion. Second, I have multiple stones and rods. Third, I have lots of coffee cups. So yeah, I'm not worried.

By the way, I believe there is a version of the APO-1 in 3V in the making.

Then what is not to like;)

In delta 3v? Will the sheath dull the blade?

Serious questions when surviving the apocalypse is concerned.

No idea, what so ever.
As for the sheath dulling the blade, what would mean taking those DBK "Experts"'s word for it. And those guys are light houses of objectiveness. Or are they???

They are funny.

I'm not going to drop $130 to find out if the are right or not. At the end of the day, that's way too much for an aus8 knife:cool:

They are funny, and I am never going to drop $130 for her knife either. Or $160+ for a 3V version.
Her knife is just a generic survivalknife, similar to hundreds of other generic survivalknives on the market.
But I am sure it will do just fine. Albeit others will do better, if pressed to the limit.
The wise survivalist, however, will never find the limit of their knife.

I am not a survivalist. Nor wise. So I would surely end up bending that tip:confused:

Guys, is it just me, or does the shape of her blade remind you of a....S1?
I'm not saying it's 100% identical, just saying the shape reminds me of an S1.

Yo! I am from Noo Yawk. And I still say that's a nice a pizza pie! You don't like it? Wuzza matta wit you?

The knife is WAY overpriced compared to the competition and of unproven, long term non-failure. In Noo Yawk (much as I-from South Philly- am generally unimpressed ) it's a pie. ;)
