Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Sure. I posted pictures a few pages back but I can post another one.

Me getting a knife before so many others isn't exactly the case. I got lucky and ordered the knife at the end of that model's pre-order. Right after I ordered one they shut new orders for them down. 4 or 5 months later they started shipping them out. My order appears to be one of the last ones shipped and shipped just after 6 months.

There are lots of people still waiting on knife orders, some from 5 or 6 years ago. I don't believe any of those are GSO 6 orders.

Looks like, based on your own words, that is exactly the case.

Context. Survive! wrapped up their orders of GSO-6s and those shipped. I didn't get a GSO-6 before someone else got a GSO-6 who has been waiting for years.

Context. They still have outstanding orders from 5-6 years ago. Instead of filling those, they are filling orders from this year. Models are immaterial.

I've seen comments from other people who bought the GSO-6 3 and 4 years ago who got their knives just before me. Seems like they filled orders from the last 5-6 years for a specific model to clear it off their plate. 6's, then 3.5s, just finishing up 4.5s now.

Right on, thanks. Are you referring to the pics of the stacks of knives on a table at the manufacturers shop?

Just trying to get some clarity. Thanks again for your time.

It did yes. 206 days from order to shipping. I definitely lucked in with the "short" shipping time.

It looks like the GSO 4.5s are wrapping up, lots of blades seemingly shipping out, and a few leftovers on their website. Looking at picking up a 4.5 (looks like I missed out on the thinner blade option), a new model 4.7 to check it out, and my pièce de résistance, a GSO 8.
I know this may all be coincidental, and I hate to say this.... but you really do sound like a shill. Or just not very smart. Perhaps you did get lucky, this one time. I got lucky on two knives from them in the past. That does not mean that you won't wait forever (<cough>... six years) for your next one.

How does it feel to know that you skipped ahead in line? 6 years ahead? At Christmastime?
I can certainly say it gets me in the Christmas spirit to see that Survive ( will never again put that stupid exclamation after their assinine name) shipped out some people's knives (or at least one) in the same year.... as I wait here on my 6th year for mine.

You may be correct. I CAN tell you that I waited 5 years for my GSO 6 order. And I DID get it back in the Feb/Mar time frame. And hated it. Between the time i ordered it and the time they actually made it, they changed the size of the handle. It may work great for some, many, but not all people, and it is not what I ordered. Fortunately for me, my daughter immediately fell in love with it, so it is hers. So it all turned out great. In waiting 5 years for a knife that I didn't want, it arrived just in time to gift to my daughter who would have been too young for it if I had gotten it within, say, ONLY ONE YEAR!

That is a very valid statement. And totally irrelevant. If they were only going to do GSO-6's until they got GSO-6's done, they should have only taken orders for GSO-6's. Then perhaps they could have produced them in a timely manner, AND produced the same knife that people ordered back then.

I just want to add.... I'm not saying they're criminal (although there seems to be plenty of evidence to say that). But they ARE a PISS POOR company, made up of piss poor individuals. Or perhaps the only piss poor individuals are the two that have been associated with it the whole time. I suspect that they guy (not "Guy) that showed up in that one long defensive youtube video is the only one that may be getting them up out of the sh**-hole they dug for themselves. I have to respect him for that, if that is truly the case. But at this point, I'd almost love to see them go bankrupt even if it meant the loss of the funds I paid for the knife I'm still waiting on, 6 years later.

Exactly the ones yes. I've already heard they can be faked and photoshopped and not proof of anything.

I'm not sure how to post videos from Instagram here. If you're legitimately curious if it's bullshit or not I suggest you take a look for yourself to either support or question your opinion. Temporarily join their IG page and check out some of the videos.

You said you posted a picture of your knife. Which knife is yours? The pictures you posted were of dozens of knives.

I know this may all be coincidental, and I hate to say this.... but you really do sound like a shill.
I'm not acting as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others. I've said from the start I like their knives a lot. I'm not really interested in enticing others to buy from them, I don't really care. I've never suggested anyone should give them another chance or forgive them; from the start I've said it appears their stuff is starting to ship out more frequently. Same suggestion to you as MolokaiRider, check out their IG page and decide if it looks like bullshit or not.

Like yourself, I got lucky on two knives as well. I agree it doesn't mean the next knife won't take forever.

Agreed it's nice to see people starting to get their stuff. Sucks you're still waiting and I can sympathize with the position of frustration you must be in. What kind of knife are you waiting on from them?

A silver lining, glad that worked out a little well for you. I was planning on giving my son a new GSO-6 but he's in love with a Glock field knife. I might get their 4.5 with the Ghost jade handles for my daughter but she's pretty happy with a Morakniv Companion.

I understand your reasoning here, ethically I think you are right. From a business point of view, I'd need to see their books to decide if whatever they were doing meant they needed to keep taking pre-orders while very likely understanding there would be considerable delays.

Then perhaps they could have produced them in a timely manner, AND produced the same knife that people ordered back then.
100% agree.

I was asking if you wouldn't mind posting pics of YOUR knife, not Insta photos from the manufacturer.

But I digress.

You’re a bad liar.

No problem. Here's a family pic, newest is top middle with the black G10 handles.
