Survive! Knives Heads Up

Available on Monday March 21:

We know the GSO-5.1 is pretty popular, but some of these other blades are getting pretty restless waiting for their turn to get out and cut stuff up. So we won't be listing any knives on March 21st. Instead, we will be working on fulfilling preorders for the GSO-4.7 and getting a head start on some GSO-2.7s.

Available on an upcoming Monday:

Necker II: There will be more available after Guy has had a chance to get ahead on GSO-4.7 preorders.
GSO-5.1: Will continue to be available each week in limited quantities.

Wow! Every one of those went really high.
A used 4.1 for $300. It looks like an edc 4.

Supply and demand. There's limited supply with a high demand so inflation is the business way lol...I've gotten somewhat lucky on mine compared to what I've seen em sell for, thou I paid a lil more than I'd liked for my numbered 6.

Nib #55

I didn't really care about the number, nor knew it was somewhat rare to come across at the time..id wanted a 5 for awhile but snagged a 4.1 when one came up..so decided I would rather have a 6 as the 5 wasn't much more blade than the 4.1...luckily a week later a 6 popped up and I snagged it... It's been 4 weeks since getting my first survive and now have the jimpless 4.1, #6, & 10 all new lol considering grabbing another 4.1 now.

Fewer 6's are made due to their size. The first production run of the 5.0s had 300 knives, I believe... I could be wrong. I don't think I have seen one numbered higher than 300.
I guess that'd explain why you see more 4.1's, and 5's on the second hand market...

The 4.1 in 3V has historically been the most popular model. I'm not sure of the entire history... The EDC 4 was offered in Elmax and CPM-3V, and the 4.1 has been offered in CPM-3V, Bohler M390, and CPM-20CV. I don't know which runs were numbered.

Were there less numbered 6's made? Mine only has 55 no 0

I'm debating on whether or not to use it..I bought it to use not collect, but I keep getting told I should it put it up along with the jimpless 4.1.

We only numbered the first 200 preorders for each of those models as they were released in 2013. They were engraved by a third party, during a time when there were too many chiefs, so I think each model ended up being a little different in the engraving.

They are rare, but the knives are all designed to be used. We would say use it, but a collector may disagree.

There's a lot of info and history to learn in a month lol. Thou I think I'd feel guilty not using these blades rare or not...Guy made em to be users not safe queens... And it'd take a real die hard enthusiast who wants every model every made to really flip em for a notable profit in a few years.

Thanks, Ellie! You're awesome.

That's what I'm leaning to...I bought em second hand all new with full intentions of using em and upgrading my previous go to trio of blades. It was after the fact people began telling me they were actually rare finds... But like I've seen on the videos Guy has made, he wants his blades in the hands of users who will enjoy em rather than getting pulled out of the safe every now and again for fondling. It amazes me I was able to buy 3 brand new blades that were made atleast 2 years ago.

My only complaint with survive is how addicting the knives are...must have more lol. Hoping once the new production 4.1, 4.5, & 6 and maybe the 10 and 12 is done I'll be able to snag a second our first.

Heads Up! 5.1 Green micarta and green sheath for sale on exchange for a fair price! good luck!
