Survive! knives

Even though I have an invoice for my 3.5 pre-order, there appears to be no record of it on the Survive! site. I am 99% sure that I gave them my credit card number
when I placed the order in Sept., so I checked my credit card statement and there is nothing there. I also checked PayPal. Nothing there either. It appears that my
order fell into a black hole. I sent them an email on the web-site. I'll have to wait and see if they respond.

It seems that I am being ignored. No response of any sort.

... alternatively they will be available with the GSO-4.1 and GSO-4.1 Factory 2nds for a $15 charge. The production GSO-4.1 will be listed at $184 without a sheath and $199 with a sheath. As I mentioned on the phone, we can get one of the GSO-4.1 sheaths to you when they arrive, otherwise we do have a 14-day return policy..

Just curious Ellie,
I don't believe my factory 2nds 4.1 has shipped out yet.
If the new sheaths come in before it ships out, will you be including one? Otherwise, I'm looking at $15+shipping for a sheath when they do come in, and at that point, how much have I saved by helping yall clear out your old shop...?

I would recommend calling them instead of trying to resolve your complex problem via internet forum board. I've called them 4 times in the last year, and Ellie or Josh have answered the phone 4/4 times.

Good luck, that's a bummer.

Pictures of my GSO 5.1 cpm20cv with Hale Storm digi camp sheath...added a Sage Leatherworks dangler. Been meaning to write in to discuss my sheath and dealings with Hale Storm. Here is a brief excerpt.

"I can't express how nice is to deal with someone who is understanding and reasonable. When strange issues come up from time to time, I always stand behind what I do. That is what I expect when I'm the customer and something is not right. More times than not, I don't get that type of service so I always try to provide it from my end. I will get the new sheath out to you ASAP. You've earned my trust and respect so I will ship the new one out tomorrow rather than wait for the other sheath to get here."

Stand up businessman and individual offering a superb product. Anyone looking for a sheath contact this biz!!!! Thanks again Hale Storm!!!!

Sorry no pics as uploading has been disabled...

Unfortunately, I am very hard of hearing and have difficulty understanding unfamiliar voices on the phone.

RE: The red font, I SHOULD HAVE MADE IT ALL CAPS TOO!

So I didn't realize the factory second didn't come with a sheath. Really pleased with the product but I thought people were asking specifically for no sheath to be sent with knife when it's talked about in the disclaimer. Called the customer service and they insisted they listed on the disclaimer but all I found was that they said sheaths would be available in June, when I ordered it, and I interpreted the rest of it as people specifically just asking for no sheath. I was under the impression that these thing came standard with sheaths. I'm not happy with the website or customer service. Whatever I saved on the knife was immediately lost ordering a custom sheath for it. Sucks for me. When I asked what could be done I was told I could return it, which I can't since I already ordered a sheath for it, and that was it. I may have interpreted what was written incorrectly but I also don't think my interpretation was something that's way off. So I'm venting my frustration here and making sure people know explicitly that the knives come with no sheath. Sale isn't that great when you take into account how much a third party sheath will be. Well I've said my piece.

A bit reluctant to post, but going to anyway. If it annoys someone then so be it.

Please keep in mind that the sheaths included or sold separately by Survive! aren't "factory sheaths" or being popped out of a machine. Every one is made by my hands the same way I (and others) make an individual "custom" order. In my biased opinion the cost of them being included or sold by themselves is a pretty good bonus to the brand and probably shouldn't be seen as a detraction when they're not always immediately available. On that note, that cost isn't just added in or removed on a whim, it's to cover actually paying the person making the sheaths.

I do appreciate your efforts.
But you do see my point about the value of purchasing factory seconds when it does not include a sheath?

Once I buy a sheath separately, I've paid the same price I would pay for a factory "1sts" GSO 4.1, so what exactly is the "bargain" I'm getting? I'm paying the same price for a knife with bad complexion? :P
C'mon now....

These last few weeks have been my first dealing with Survive Knives the company versus the ones I have purchased from the exchange. I have had great communication through emails and I have received my mystery 4.1 and could not be happier. I don't understand some of the complaining about sheaths. People are going to complain if they are forced to buy one while others will complain that they are not included. I have been buying knives on this exchange for a while and my experience is that you might have to ship a knife to a sheath maker $8.00 shipping to get it there, they have it for awhile, they make the sheath then you pay them $35.00 plus $10 for a tek lock and you pay the return shipping $8.00. I read the flyer and knew that I was not receiving a sheath. Why would I assume to get one when I did not even pick a color? For what Survive is selling sheaths for there is no money in it for them but they have to deal with the hassle of unsatisfied customers over a sheath. Let's stop punishing Survive Knives for offering a great knife for a great price. No good deed goes unpunished.

You are basically getting a handmade sheath that would cost around $30-$40 for $15, that actually is a deal. I had no idea that Kiah was making these, if that is the case you have a quality craftsman at the helm. It's a bit different than buying any old sheath that some newbie made. I was looking at the website yesterday as I was trying to figure out how to order a 3.5 in 20CV, but it's not available yet (they are coming I was told). I looked at the sheathes and thought they looked a bit familiar, and the low price threw me.

They are excellent sheaths and worth every penny to me.Thank you for the craftsmanship. It must be pretty hard to keep up with demand at the moment.Good quality products take time and hopefully the labor of love.
Best,

Still saved you $35
Factory 2ND $139 + $5 shipping, sheath $20 + $5 shipping = $169
Normal gso 4.1 $199 with sheath + $5 shipping = $204

Factory second 4.1s were $159. Add $10 for the color handles I want = $169 + $10 shipping = $179. And No sheath.

So by the time I buy a sheath for $20 plus shipping ($5?) I'm looking at $204 for a GSO 4.1 that is pock-marked.

If I would have bought a factory firsts GSO 4.1 it would start at $184 + $10 for handle + $10 for shipping AND comes with a sheath.
So is my math off, or...? $204.00 for a factory seconds 4.1 and sheath separately, or $204.00 for a factory firsts 4.1 WITH a sheath.

AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE???

Sounds like you should have gone with a regular one, and/or read more carefully before pulling the trigger.

I would love to go with a regular one, if S!K would make them available to me.
As it is, I thought this would be a good way to try out the 4.1 at a "discount".
I'm very pleased with my GSO-10, but I got that from good ol' BladeHQ. Survive! Knives are outstanding, it's just getting them from the company into the hands of the owners that seems to be a problem...

The lottery 4.1 was $139. My shipping was $5. And if you get the normal 4.1 its only $184 without a sheath. And adding different colored handles cost extra no matter what doesnt it, weather factory 2nd or not
