Survive! knives

4.1s and neckers are now available on the survive site. Nothing else seems to be up yet. It looks like their are a bunch of new handle options fir the 4.1. Unfortunately you will have to imagine what they look like. I am looking forward to seeing bone linen and od g10.

If you look under Supplies you can view all of the different handle options now...

I'm interested in the prices for this series... Guy mentioned it is just as hard to grind the s7 as the 3v.

In addition to the steel being less expensive, I'm trying to get the price a bit lower by keeping the options simple and prebuilding them. This will save us time in the shop just building knives ahead of time and increase our efficiency. I'm still not sure how this will work out for the final price but I really wanted to give it a try. lol

Yep, we have all of the handle color options up on the handles page of the site.

Side note, does anyone know of a good way to get a nice black oxide on CPM-3V? I've heard ferric chloride might work? Looking for really black, etched into the surface. I'm not a chemist, so I'm wondering if anyone had some good suggestions, preferably from personal experience? lol

Love it.

Nice GSO-10, one of my very first. Here is one just like it, from the current run. Extended thumb ramp, wider swelled handles, larger lanyard hole, variable length screws. Other than that, pretty much the exact same piece. The orange does look nice on this model and I'm not usually an orange type of guy.

Quick question. I recently picked up a 4.1 in 3V on the second hand market. It doesn't have any thumb jimping and all of the other ones I have seen have it. Is this an early one? Or a special run? Thanks for any info!

Ah so they can be ordered without jimping. I searched and found my own answer ;)

Hey Guy, I am dead set on picking up one of the Necker II models when they come out. Any timetable as to when they should be available? I don't want to miss out!

Yep, there are some of those floating around that we sold recently and we'll have some more finished up in a few weeks. Those are all CPM-3V.

Those blades are set to be surface and bevel ground, I believe this week or next. Once that is done we just need to get some handles sized up for them and sheaths made. I'm particularly excited to begin wearing one of these new CPM-20CV blades. I'm loving this steel.

Guy,
It's nice to see you back on the forums. When do you think some GSO 7/7's will be produced?I would like to purchase one..
Thanks,

We just picked up a mountain of CPM-3V, CPM-20CV and S7. The GSO-7/7 is going to begin production somewhere in that mountain. I would say by mid spring you'll see the GSO-7/7 again and sexier than ever. We have a lot of exciting things starting up right now.

False ground? Now that is sexy!

I showed this in the old thread, so I think I should show a family portrait here.

I got in my 4.1 the other day and I couldnt be more pleased. It is by far the sharpest blade I have ever taken out of a box. I really hope the weather holds out this weekend so I can get it out and use it some. I took an ESEE molle back and attached it as well as a smaller blade to the sheath and really like how it turned out. I will try and post some pics up tonight of the setup.

Oh and I just noticed the new handle scales on the website. I couldnt decide which of the two colors I liked best so just ordered two sets. I may end up selling one off but who doesnt like options :D
